Chapter 50: 50. Sugar baby
Having a lot of money didn’t make Riki accustomed to all that money. He only thought about how he could make his money useful, or how to make it grow even more.
However, suddenly, the system asked Riki to spend the money on himself.
Because of that, Riki found himself in that famous place.
A nightclub called White Pearl, a place that was more upscale than Cherry Liquid.
Of course, Riki wasn’t alone. He was with Evan, Jayden, Jake, and Jean. Jayden had invited him, and Riki happened to be with Jake and Jean. As it turned out, Jayden had come with Evan.
They were in the VIP area because Riki didn’t like crowds.
Suddenly, the system screen appeared and said.
[Why aren’t you having fun, master? Once in a while, eat good food and drink expensive drinks]
[You have a lot of money but you’re too frugal and only think about business]
[If it weren’t for the triple cashback, you wouldn’t buy so many things]
Well, that wasn’t the mission, and Riki was very surprised to hear it. The system was mocking him, and Riki found it very strange. Considering that a robot said all that—oh, wait a minute.
Was the system a robot? Could it be that someone was controlling the system?
Ugh, it was better not to think about strange things.
Riki was hungry.
As the system said, Jayden took them to that place not because he wanted to have fun or get drunk. It was because the place was famous for its delicious and classy food.
Since it was Riki’s first time there, he didn’t know what was on the menu. So, he asked the waiters to bring them everything they recommended.
The waiters there were very happy to hear that. Riki was sure they would bring him all the most expensive items on the menu.
"You didn’t tell us you were a rich kid, bro," Evan asked Jayden.
Jayden chuckled when he heard this, "My parents are rich. As for me—they even kicked me out of the house," he said, sounding very sad.
Jake patted Jayden on the back and replied, "It seems like your family problems are quite complicated, bro. It’s okay if you can’t talk about it yet, because we just met."
Jayden smiled bitterly, "I can’t tell you guys not because I just met yall, it’s just... too difficult for me to remember it again."
"Then don’t remember it, and I think everyone has their own stories that are difficult to express," replied Jean.
They were silent after that.
Meanwhile, Riki wasn’t paying much attention to their conversation. He just stared outside, where drunk people were dancing to relieve their fatigue.
His brow furrowed when he saw someone he knew there. But, as far as Riki remembered, that person shouldn’t have been there because she was still underage.
Riki stood up, surprising the others.
"Where are you going, Rik?" asked Evan.
"You guys talk first, I want to make sure of something," he said, then left. He approached the crowd.
Riki felt many pairs of eyes staring at him, but he didn’t care. He kept walking, pushing through the crowd until he found someone he seemed to know.
Riki tapped the person on the shoulder until she turned around.
Riki was surprised because he hadn’t mistaken the person.
"Sofie?" called Riki.
The girl called Sofie shook Riki’s hand off her shoulder. She looked at Riki with disgust.
"Ugh, what are you doing here? Do you know that this is a high-class nightclub, huh? Are you working part-time here? Hahaha, crazy. Someone like you can work in a nice place too, huh? I didn’t think you still remembered me, cousin! Ugh, I hate calling you cousin because you’re not on the same level as me," said Sofie.
"SOFIE! Wake up, you’re only 17 years old! You’re not allowed to be in a place like this! If you get caught—"
Riki stopped talking when Sofie laughed loudly, "Hahaha, if I get caught what? My boyfriend is an influential person! He has a lot of money, he can even rent this place just for the two of us. So, a poor person like you would definitely beg me for money, right? Unbelievable, you’re so disgusting, Riki. With your looks, I could introduce you to rich old women to be their sugar baby... just like me."
Riki knew his cousin was drunk. She was even talking nonsense.
Riki, who still cared a little even though he hated his uncle’s family, tried to drag the girl to the edge.
However, after Riki managed to save the girl from the crowd and several perverted men who wanted to touch her, the girl slapped Riki instead.
"Damn it! Why did you drag me here? Are you crazy?"
"Let’s go home. I’ll take you after I finish eating," said Riki. He dragged the girl back into the VIP room.
"Hey! Let me go! I don’t want to— Let go! Help, security!"
Suddenly, a man came over, about to punch Riki. However, in Riki’s view, the man’s fist came slowly.
Riki didn’t know if it was the one of his skills. But thanks to that, he was able to catch the man’s fist quickly, then push him backwards until he fell.
The man immediately got up and glared at Riki angrily.
When Riki looked closely, the man seemed to be quite famous. Riki felt like he had seen his face somewhere before. But he couldn’t remember at all.
Unexpectedly, Sofie ran into the man’s arms.
"Daddy! Why did you take so long? He’s a jerk who wanted to touch me, punish him quickly!" Sofie said, pointing at Riki’s face.
Riki chuckled, not expecting his cousin to actually become a sugar baby for a man in his late thirties.
The man was quite handsome, but he was almost the same age as her parents. And Riki was sure that the man must have a wife and children at home.
"So, you prefer that man over your own cousin who is kindly trying to help you?" asked Riki.
Sofie laughed out loud, "Help me? Help yourself, poor Riki! You’re poor but you have a lot of nonsense! Don’t talk so much if you can’t even help yourself... look at me. Even though my father went bankrupt, I found another way to still get the luxury items I wanted! Unlike you, who is short-sighted and works hard like a poor person. Don’t come near me because I’ll catch your poverty."
Riki felt really stupid for thinking he could help the girl. Even though she was Riki’s cousin, Sofie’s family was one of the reasons for the destruction of Riki’s family.
In fact, the luxury that Sofie mentioned earlier was the luxury she got from Riki’s father.
Sofie’s family took everything, and they considered it all theirs.
When they found out that Riki, who was still underage, was having difficulties, they just stood by and laughed at him.
"Fine, cousin, whom I will no longer refer to as my cousin... go play with your old sugar daddy. I won’t interfere," said Riki. Then quickly, Riki entered the room he had been in before.
"Daddy, why don’t you just kick him out? I’m sure you can do it, he’s just a part-time worker here," said Sofie, clinging affectionately to the man’s arm.
"Are you stupid? Look, he’s entering the VIP room, which is off-limits to ordinary people. Even though he works here, I think he works for someone influential. It’s better if you come with me to a better place," said the man. Not forgetting, he waved a few bills at Sofie.
Seeing all that money, Sofie became excited.
"Of course, let’s go to a better place, daddy!"
Meanwhile, Riki, who was sitting back down, couldn’t feel happy seeing all the delicious food served there.
"Who is that girl?" asked Jayden.
"My cousin, and she’s 17 years old," muttered Riki.
They were all stunned to hear this.
"Isn’t the rule here that you have to be at least 19 years old to enter?" asked Jean, confused.
"She said her old boyfriend could arrange everything for her. I tried to help, but she— ugh, forget it," Riki muttered.
Besides, if it was worth helping, the system would make it a mission. However, the system didn’t tell him any missions.
Riki was sure that meant he didn’t need to help Sofie.
However, Jake’s words after that made Riki feel uneasy.
"That guy... isn’t he the one who’s often in and out of jail for selling stolen cars? He often gets into trouble because of that. But since he always manages to get out of jail easily, I think he has someone influential helping him," said Jake.
"How do you know that?" asked Evan.
Jake shrugged, "I’ve seen him appear several times in the news. He was arrested for illegal business, but somehow he always manages to get away."
"Are you sure you don’t want to help your cousin, Riki?" asked Jean.
Riki sighed deeply, "I don’t know... it feels hard to help her after being rejected once."
Jake, Jean, and Jayden, who had been helped by Riki even though they were nobodies, were surprised to hear this.
"You guys might be confused, but Riki’s family was destroyed because of that girl’s family... even though they were supposed to be relatives, instead of helping, they always insulted Riki," said Evan.
Riki tried to eat his food, but he couldn’t swallow it properly.
Damn it!
Riki shouldn’t feel sorry for people who don’t even want to be pitied.
Suddenly, Riki stood up and walked out of the room.
"Riki, wait!"
