Chapter 367: Prank

Xiao Yu had a great deal of work to do. In the conference room, what he and the scientists discussed was only the general direction. During the meetings, they determined the research trajectory, while the concrete details, calculation steps, and so on were left to Xiao Yu and the scientists themselves to refine.

In fact, for scientists qualified to attend meetings at this level, this was their typical mode of work. They set the major research directions, and once a direction was confirmed, the actual research tasks were naturally carried out by the scientists under their command.

Xiao Yu worked the same way. At this stage, he needed to establish a complete model for the process of a small universe detaching from the main universe. Every step in this model had to be real, reliable, and able to withstand scrutiny. This was an extremely heavy computational task. The computational demand of this single topic alone was equivalent to the total computing power required by several Nation-Class ships.

That was the nature of scientific computation. Back in the Earth era of human society, one of the primary functions of supercomputers was scientific calculation. These were problems that far exceeded human computational capabilities, only supercomputers could handle them.

Fortunately, each scientist had their own computer terminal, and the computational tasks on those terminals were being handled by supercomputers aboard the other Nation-Class ships, so they didn’t have to burden Xiao Yu. Otherwise, even if Xiao Yu’s computing capacity were increased tenfold, it still wouldn’t be enough.

Under these conditions, the process model for the space weapon’s space-stripping function was successfully built. Through the computer, Xiao Yu clearly visualized the process of a large three-dimensional space being torn apart, and a smaller three-dimensional space beginning to move on the Four-Dimensional level. Xiao Yu had fully taken into account the total mass of the small universe he was in, the power of the space weapon, and the initial velocity that could be imparted to the separated space fragment. From these conditions, he precisely calculated the time it would take for that fragment to return.

The results showed that the tiny space with a diameter of only ten meters was currently revolving around the small universe Xiao Yu was in, with a period of three minutes on the Four-Dimensional level. Furthermore, this period was rapidly decreasing. When the orbital period reached zero, that would be the moment when the small universe returned to the main universe. To be precise, the predicted time was two days, seven hours, and twenty five minutes from now.

At that point, all the problems troubling Xiao Yu would be resolved.

Building the model and calculating the entire process had taken Xiao Yu over half a day. Now, there were less than two days remaining before the final verification.

At this point, all that could be done was to wait. Xiao Yu had, for once, obtained a rare moment of free time. But even with free time, he didn’t quite know what to do.

On Home Ships One through Forty, the Dwarves were living peacefully and contentedly. By now, their intelligence level had reached about the same stage as that of the Luka people two thousand years ago. They still had a ways to go before they could truly serve Xiao Yu. He continued working to improve both their intelligence and physical fitness. Aboard the Home Ships, they lived just like they did on their home planet, without any discomfort.

Home Ship Forty One was far more vibrant. More than a hundred races occupied different cities and levels. The scientists were busy every day, while ordinary citizens also had their own affairs, working hard either to obtain better living conditions, gain more permissions, or rise to higher status. Everything was developing prosperously and in good order.

“It seems that the Social Committee led by Luka Two is indeed quite capable and efficient.” Observing all this, Xiao Yu thought to himself. In his mind, he couldn’t help but recall Senya’s figure once more.

“That young one really does resemble me from Earth’s era… Well, alright, even though his emotional intelligence isn’t all that high either, it’s still much better than mine back then. I wonder what he’s doing now?”

A hint of curiosity rose in Xiao Yu’s heart, and so he activated his immense computing power. In an instant, he sifted through the sea of data and located information on Senya.

A probe installed in the mountains and disguised as a rock reported back the relevant information. Through this surveillance device, Xiao Yu caught a glimpse of Senya’s silhouette.

This was the grassland pasture on the outskirts of City 301. When it was built, Xiao Yu had constructed it according to the image of paradise in his own mind, every landscape was made as beautiful as possible. Although what Xiao Yu considered beautiful might not appear the same to other races, since different species had different standards of aesthetics, after so much time integrating and with Xiao Yu’s constant, subtle influence, their sense of beauty had gradually aligned with his. At the very least, this place that Xiao Yu found beautiful now seemed quite pleasant to them as well.

The sky, simulated by holographic imaging, was a clear, deep blue. A few white clouds drifted lazily overhead, and some beautiful, unidentified birds flew freely through the air, occasionally letting out melodious calls. The air circulation system blew a slightly sweet-scented breeze, gently brushing the area, making the grass bend and rise again, rising and falling like waves of green undulation. A clear stream meandered through the grasslands, with vibrant, multicolored fish swimming inside. By the stream, creatures resembling small calves were gracefully lowering their heads to drink.

In the distance stood towering mountains that reached the clouds, their snow-capped peaks clearly visible. Of course, the mountains weren’t real, there wasn’t that much space to spare aboard the Home ship. They, too, were simulated using holographic imaging technology.

There were no annoying mosquitoes here, no thorns, no filthy animal corpses. In short, everything unpleasant had been excluded. From a biological perspective, this wasn’t a natural ecological environment, after all, a complete food chain requires things like insects, thorns, and decaying bodies. But since this was an artificial environment, Xiao Yu had no intention of including those. At worst, he would just handle whatever tasks nature was supposed to take care of himself.

In this seemingly celestial place, Senya was lying side by side with a woman who, even by Xiao Yu’s standards of beauty, was remarkably attractive. They were both sprawled on the soft grass. Nearby, there was a campfire, though it had already burned out, and a tent beside it.

“This kid really has some luck.” Xiao Yu thought with quiet amusement. Suddenly, a mischievous impulse rose in his heart. After issuing a command, the flat ground some distance away from Senya suddenly split open, and a fierce beast, resembling a tiger from Earth, was released.

Its ferocious aura scattered with the wind. The creatures peacefully drinking by the stream scattered in a panic. The beast sniffed around, picking up the scents in the air, and began circling, gradually closing in on Senya and Feili, who were still lying on the ground. After a few minutes, it seemed to have locked on to the scent. With a sudden roar, it charged toward them at full speed.

Startled by the roar, Senya and Feili shot up from the ground, and were immediately struck dumb by the terrifying sight. Feili screamed loudly, and Senya’s face turned ashen with fear, though he still forced himself to stay composed. He yanked Feili behind him, grabbed a wooden stick, and began waving it wildly while shouting, trying to scare the ferocious beast away. But his trembling legs clearly betrayed the fear in his heart.

The fierce beast paid no attention to the threat of the stick. When it was still over ten meters away, it suddenly leaped into the air, kicking up wind as it lunged toward them. Feili let out a cry of despair, while Senya closed his eyes in resignation.

But the expected pain never came.

A full half minute passed before Senya cautiously opened his eyes, only to find the same blue sky, white clouds, green grass, and babbling stream before him. There was no trace of the beast.

“How strange…” Senya muttered, completely baffled by what had just happened.

“W-where did that thing go?” Feili clutched Senya’s arm tightly, trembling as she asked. Senya swallowed hard and shook his head. “I don’t know…”

“L-let’s go back quickly.” Feili said nervously.

“Alright… okay.” Senya replied, still shaken.

Watching this unfold, Xiao Yu chuckled to himself. “Want to leave? It won’t be that easy. Senya, let me help you out a little more.”

With that thought, Xiao Yu issued another command. Immediately, a bitter cold wind swept across the grassland pasture. The once-clear sky was suddenly overtaken by dark clouds. A clap of thunder rolled through the air, and raindrops the size of beans began pouring down.

Triggering a rainfall through the air circulation system was a simple matter for Xiao Yu.

“Why is it raining? Oh no, oh no, how are we supposed to get back now?!” Feili cried out in panic. Check latest chapters at

“It’s okay, it’s okay, let’s go to the tent. Our tent has a waterproof system and anti-beast features. We’ll be safe in there.” Senya reassured her.

So, amid flashing lightning, roaring thunder, and a torrential downpour, the two of them helped each other into the tent. Faint voices could still be heard from inside.

“Feili, your clothes are soaked. Take them off and dry them first before putting them back on.”

“Alright. Your clothes are soaked too… ah, what are you doing? No, stop it, don’t be like that… mmph…”

Hearing the couple’s intimate murmurs, Xiao Yu smiled faintly, but suddenly felt a touch of melancholy. It was the classic case of scenery triggering emotion.

“That kid Senya… he’s got some good fortune.” Xiao Yu sighed deeply and turned his attention away.

In this rare moment of leisure, time passed slowly. And soon, the day predicted for the return of the small universe had arrived.
