Chapter 112: Ch 112 : Discord among Gods?
"So, Deimos, what is your master plan this time?" Maledictus asked, a silkiness to her voice that belied the venomous power she commanded. Deimos’s schemes were the very reason they had triumphed over the old Gods, and she was eager to see what poison he had concocted for the new ones.
Deimos, the Lord of Discord, allowed a slow, predatory smile to spread across his face. "I have sent some of the demon gods under my command to observe the unity among these new whelps. And I have found something... truly interesting."
"What?" the other Demon Lords replied almost in unison, their collective attention now focused entirely on him.
"There is a demigod under this ’God Cosmos’," Deimos began, projecting a shimmering, ethereal image of Thea’s interconnected particles above the bone table. It looked like a beautiful, blue web of captured starlight. "She is a being of pure energy, with talents like thought sharing and replication. Her particles are a network, a web that connects these new Gods across the entire multiverse. It is their greatest tool, the source of their newfound unity."
"Then let us simply corrode this network of his!" Ichor, the Lord of Corrosion, snarled, his impatience evident.
"No," Maledictus countered, her eyes gleaming with cunning. "This is far better. A curse must be woven into the victim’s greatest strength. We will not destroy their web, Deimos. We shall turn it into a poison."
"Precisely," Deimos affirmed, his smile widening. "We need to sow discord through this demigod of his." He leaned forward, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper as he dictated his plan. "We need to divide them and then conquer them"
[Master, an SS-Grade talent-holder is requesting to join as your subordinate,] Thea’s voice chimed in Sunny’s mind.
"Oh? Who is it?" Sunny asked, his curiosity piqued. He was always interested in SS-Grade talents for their unique methods of faith generation.
[It’s Asura, the God of the planet where the lifeform Lux resides.]
"What’s his talent? Have you analyzed it?" Sunny asked curiously, he was intrested in talent of SS-Grade because of their faith generation.
[I was not able to, Master. His talent is truly mysterious, I wasn’t able to find a link. I believe I need to increase the scope of the analysis.]
"No need," Sunny replied. "Focus on your task of finding any anomalies in the multiverse. I will check his talent myself when I meet him." He sent the call to Asura.
In his own God space, Asura jolted as the divine summons arrived. To show his sincerity, he accepted it without a second’s hesitation. An image materialized before him—a figure cloaked in a robe of cosmic energy, a black mask hiding his face, but his eyes were two swirling galaxies that radiated a calm, absolute power. The aura was so immense that Asura felt an involuntary urge to bow.
"Greetings, God Cosmos," Asura said, his voice trembling slightly.
"Greetings, God Asura. I received your message. Are you ready to move your world?" Sunny’s voice was even and direct, holding no judgment, only purpose.
"Yes," Asura replied, a genuine smile of relief spreading across his face. With that single word, his long-held wish to protect his people would finally be fulfilled.
Sunny nodded, and a shimmering portal tore open in Asura’s God space. It expanded, engulfing his entire planet. Asura felt his world, his entire reality, being gently but irresistibly lifted and moved through the cosmos.
When the light subsided, he found himself in a new, vibrant solar system, surrounded by dozens of other planets.
A figure was already floating toward his God space. Knowing no one would be foolish enough to cause trouble under Cosmos’s protection, Asura opened his domain.
"Hello, newcomer!" the God said, puffing out his chest with pride. "I am Zir, one of the top subordinates of God Cosmos!"
"Hello, Zir. I am Asura," he replied politely. "I have just joined. I hope you can tell me how things work here." He had heard good things, but he was still prepared for underlying conditions.
"Things work pretty smoothly here," Zir began, his voice filled with the zealous loyalty of a true believer. "No demons to worry about. Your only job is to strengthen your lifeforms. The best ones even get a chance to go to Veridia for special nourishment. It has thousands of mana veins; even a fool could become a dragon there!"
"And what are the other costs? Apart from the 25% faith tithe?" Asura asked, bracing himself for the catch.
Zir looked at him, genuinely confused, and then laughed. "What other costs? That’s it! That’s the only term. You give 25% faith, you get absolute protection, and you get access to all the benefits."
"Benefits?" Asura asked, his mind still trying to process the simplicity of the deal.
Zir’s grin widened. "Oh, you have no idea. Every God and lifeform in this subspace gets a five-fold increase in their comprehension. The chances of being born with powerful talents like magic affinity, sound affinity, and intuition are dramatically increased. Many lifeforms are even born with a natural regal aura."
Zir continued to list the buffs, but Asura’s mind had stopped working after the first one. Five times the comprehension? For everyone? The value of such a gift was immeasurable. The 25% faith that he needs to give now seemed laughably small. He would have gladly offered 99%.
"Are we even in the same league as him? Doesn’t this 5 times comprehension alone makes his talent an S-Grade, similar to Strategist the God of wisdom" Asura whispered, his mind reeling from the sheer scale of God Cosmos’s power and generosity.
"The same league?" Zir chuckled. "We never were. And my friend, you haven’t even heard about the main dish that God Cosmos is serving us." He gave Asura a mysterious, knowing smile, leaving the newcomer utterly dumbfounded and hungry for more.
In his God space, Sunny listened to the conversation between the two Gods, a small smirk playing on his lips.
Deciding it was time to solve the mystery that had eluded even Thea, Sunny focused his will and activated his God’s Eye talent on Asura.
