Chapter 154: The Magic Stone Experiment

Chapter 154: The Magic Stone Experiment

The wind was different, because it was made of air masses or flows.

By moving the particles of the gas, it was possible to cancel out its energy.

But the changes of state or pure energy flows were still difficult to manage.

Magic, it seemed, was simply another form of energy—like energy in Shiao Yi’s world—but controlled and shaped by living beings.

In his world, machines handled energy.

Here, living beings manipulated the energy within themselves and the energy around them by their will.

That energy was magical power, and using it to create effects was called magic.

This world was incredible.

Shiao Yi realized again that it was a world beyond anything he could have imagined.

Think about it—different people had different levels of magic, yes, but someone at Dominic’ level could freely control energy equivalent to a megaton-class missile.

That was not just amazing—it was terrifying.

Did that mean that people in this magical world could release neutrons from atomic nuclei?

And if they could release them, could they also manipulate them in reverse?

Were they unconsciously controlling atoms and molecules themselves?

Hmm.

That part was beyond his understanding.

If it was energy, though...

"Dominic, try releasing a mass of fire," Shiao Yi said.

He wanted to try something.

Dominic whispered a short word under his breath and released fire from his right palm.

Pure energy—magic—could apparently be shot instinctively.

The fire itself was magic, a controlled form of magical energy.

Shiao Yi caught the fireball with telekinesis, holding it steady in the air.

"Keep adding more fire to it. Increase the heat gradually," he instructed.

Dominic poured in his magical energy, and the fireball grew huge, spiraling and roaring as it burned.

Shiao Yi wondered aloud, "Hmm, what exactly is burning in it? This is strange... magic is really something else."

It wasn’t really burning, Shiao Yi realized.

The magical energy itself was being converted into heat, and that heat was what appeared as visible flames.

He began compressing the roaring energy with telekinesis.

He couldn’t compress the energy itself, but now that it had taken a visible form as fire, he could apply pressure by altering the gravitational field around it.

Telekinesis, after all, was essentially the manipulation of gravity—resisting it, adjusting it, and using it to lift and move objects.

Normally, he did it unconsciously, instinctively, as a natural ability.

Dominic poured more fire into the shrinking mass.

The fireball that was compressed smaller and smaller, became hotter and hotter.

It shrank to smaller than a grain of sand, then even smaller.

Shiao Yi focused every ounce of his power into telekinesis.

"Dominic! Stop!" he shouted.

The instant Dominic halted the magical energy, a blinding light flared.

Shiao Yi released his telekinesis and slowly opened his eyes, he instinctively closing them against the intensity.

The tears blurred his vision.

Wiping them away, he looked at the ground and saw a polygonal stone, glowing bright red, about five centimeters across.

Both he and Dominic were completely drained, barely able to catch their breath.

For a moment, neither of them could move.

The first one to act was Mr. Vundo.

He dashed forward, scooped up the red stone, and held it at eye level, inspecting it from every angle.

"Amazing! Incredible! This is a magic stone of such high purity!"

"A magic stone? It really is a magic stone?" Shiao Yi asked.

Mr. Vundo spun around, his eyes shining with excitement.

"You could even call it a crystallized flame! It holds incredible magical energy—an unbelievable thing!"

"So... the experiment was a success?" Shiao Yi said.

He had reasoned that if neutrons could be released, the reverse might also be possible—forming neutrons from energy, constructing atomic nuclei, and eventually shaping matter into molecules.

The combination of high energy and extreme compression was like a miniature Big Bang, converting energy into fundamental particles, generating neutrons, and rapidly forming atoms and molecules.

By ordinary standards, such a feat would require advanced technology and a fully equipped scientific facility.

And yet here, in front of him, it had been accomplished experimentally.

Magic was, without a doubt, utterly beyond conventional logic.

"Shiao Yi, what exactly did you do just now? Of course, it’s the power of telekinesis, isn’t it?"

The magician’s eager question left Shiao Yi unsure how to answer.

At that moment, a commotion of running footsteps came crashing toward them.

"Master! You’re really terrible! I want to see too! Shiao Yi! What was that just now? How unfair! I missed it!"

Aaron was shouting at him while rushing in.

He came running at incredible speed, his sharp eyes immediately catching sight of the magic stone in Mr. Vundo’s hand.

This man, who often seemed careless, had a sense like a wild animal.

"Master, let me see that!"

After saying that, he snatched the red stone from Mr. Vundo almost instantly.

"Amazing! It has incredible purity! Shiao Yi, do you made this? Wow!"

Showing even more excitement than Mr. Vundo, Aaron moved closer to Shiao Yi.

Up until just a moment ago, Dominic had been riding a high from creating the magic stone with Shiao Yi, but Aaron’s sudden appearance sent his mood plummeting straight to freezing.

"How did you do it? Hey? Can it be done another way? What do you need?"

Aaron fired questions one after another, and Shiao Yi hesitated before answering.

"Magic energy... using Dominic’ fire magic for heat..."

Shiao Yi gave a sharp cough, a clear sign of his displeasure, as he turned to face both Aaron and Mr. Vundo.

"Neither I nor Shiao Yi are tools for producing magic stones. We refuse any further experiments."

"Whaaat? We came all this way!"

Aaron’s voice rang out in frustration, but, in truth, they hadn’t come to the training ground to satisfy a magician’s curiosity.

This was supposed to be Dominic’s date with Shiao Yi, wasn’t it?

Seeing Dominic’s unhappy expression, Shiao Yi ran over.

"I’m sorry! Dominic! That wasn’t fun, was it? It was supposed to be our date."
