Cheng Cheng and the Cicada

Chapter 17 Halloween and Einstein

Listening to CC’s trembling words, Lin Xian didn’t say anything.

【Huande Huanshi】 (being anxious about possible loss).

This was probably… CC’s current state.

Just like she said, when she had nothing, it was the most carefree time for her; she wasn’t afraid of losing, wasn’t afraid of tomorrow, and wasn’t even afraid of death.

Chapter 17 Halloween and Einstein

Listening to CC’s trembling words, Lin Xian was silent for a moment. He could feel CC’s inner struggle and fear; these emotions were clearly audible in her voice.

"Huande Huanshi" (being anxious about possible loss) was indeed a true reflection of CC's current state. When she had everything, she was always worried about losing it, afraid of the uncertainty of tomorrow. But now, when she had nothing, she had become fearless. This transformation surprised Lin Xian and gave him a deeper understanding of this girl.

CC’s words seemed to be telling of her inner pain and helplessness. Everything she once had had now vanished, leaving her with only endless darkness and despair. But Lin Xian could feel that in this darkness, there was still a faint glimmer of light flickering in CC’s heart.

"CC, I know you're in pain now, but please believe that one day you will regain your own light," Lin Xian said softly.

"Light?" CC smiled bitterly. "I've lost everything. What light is there to speak of?"

"Maybe you can't see it now, but as long as you're alive, there will always be hope." Lin Xian reached out and gently took CC’s hand. "I will always be by your side to help you out of this darkness."

CC raised her head and looked into Lin Xian's eyes. She saw sincere concern and warmth in them, which stirred an unspeakable feeling in her heart.

Just then, a burst of laughter came from outside the window. It turned out that the children were celebrating Halloween. They were wearing all kinds of strange costumes, holding candy in their hands, and running happily down the street.

"Halloween… I remember I liked this holiday very much when I was a child," CC murmured to herself.

"Yes, we were all carefree children back then," Lin Xian also recalled the past.

"But now we have grown up and can never go back to that time," CC sighed.

"Maybe, but we can still find some happiness in this holiday." As Lin Xian spoke, he took out a small jack-o'-lantern from his pocket. "This is specially prepared for you. I hope you like it."

CC took the jack-o'-lantern and gently stroked its surface. This simple little object made her feel a warmth.

"Thank you, Lin Xian," CC said with a smile.

Just then, there was a slight noise outside the window. The two looked around and saw a figure quietly approaching.

"Who's there?" Lin Xian asked warily.

The figure gradually approached, and under the moonlight, his true face was finally revealed.

"Einstein!" CC exclaimed.

The man in the strange costume was none other than the famous physicist Einstein. With a mysterious smile on his face, he slowly walked up to the two of them.

"Good evening, young people," Einstein said in a low voice.

Einstein slowly walked up to Lin Xian and CC, with a mysterious smile on his face.

"Good evening, young people," Einstein said in a low voice. "I see you are celebrating this special holiday."

Lin Xian and CC looked at each other, not knowing how to deal with this suddenly appearing master of physics.

"Mr. Einstein, it's a pleasure to meet you," Lin Xian took the lead in breaking the silence. "We were just chatting about the past. We didn't expect to meet you."

"The past…" Einstein nodded. "Everyone has their own past, with light and darkness. But the important thing is that we must learn to accept ourselves and bravely face the future."

CC looked at the jack-o'-lantern in her hand, and a complex emotion welled up in her heart. Einstein's words seemed to hit the deepest pain in her heart.

"But I've lost everything," CC said in a low voice. "How should I face the future?"

Einstein looked at CC gently. "Losing doesn't mean the end of everything. On the contrary, this is your chance to start over. You must believe that as long as you are still alive, there will always be hope."

As he spoke, Einstein took out a small square block from his arms. "This is a gift from me. I hope it will give you some inspiration."

CC took the block and examined it carefully. It looked very ordinary, but it gave people a mysterious feeling.

"What is this?" CC asked curiously.

"This is a Rubik's Cube," Einstein explained. "It looks simple, but it's not easy to solve it completely. This is like our life, full of challenges and difficulties. But as long as we persevere and don't give up, we will eventually find a solution."

CC pondered Einstein's words, and an unspeakable feeling welled up in her heart. Maybe she hadn't completely lost hope.

"Thank you, Mr. Einstein," CC said sincerely. "Your words have given me a lot of inspiration."

Einstein smiled and nodded. "I'm glad I could help you. Now I should continue my journey. I wish you a happy holiday."

After saying that, Einstein turned and left, disappearing into the night.

Lin Xian and CC watched his back disappear, and they both felt a sense of inexplicable inspiration in their hearts. Perhaps, as Einstein said, as long as they persevere and don't give up, they will eventually find their own light.

Watching Einstein’s back disappear into the night, Lin Xian and CC were both lost in thought. Einstein’s words had given them great inspiration, rekindling the hope in their hearts.

"You're right, CC," Lin Xian said softly. "We may have lost a lot, but as long as we're alive, there will always be new opportunities."

CC looked down at the Rubik's Cube in her hand and gently stroked its surface. "Yes, Mr. Einstein is right. This Rubik's Cube is like our life, full of challenges, but as long as we persevere and don't give up, we will eventually find a solution."

"Then let's work hard together." Lin Xian reached out and took CC’s hand. "No matter how difficult the road ahead is, I will always be by your side."

CC looked up at Lin Xian, with a glimmer of light in her eyes. "Thank you, Lin Xian. With you by my side, I feel like I have found a glimmer of hope again."

The two looked at each other and smiled, both feeling a warmth in their hearts. Just then, the children’s cheerful laughter came from outside the window, reminding them of this special holiday.

"Speaking of which, today is Halloween," Lin Xian said. "Should we also go and join in the celebrations?"

CC thought for a while and nodded. "Okay, I haven't participated in such holiday activities for a long time. Maybe this will allow me to find some happiness again."

So the two of them walked out of the room hand in hand and merged into the lively crowd. On this special night, they both felt a new force that rekindled their hope for the future.
