Cheng Cheng and the Cicada
Chapter 2 Seeing the Future (Bonus chapter for Alliance Master sfqk)
After Einstein spoke, no one continued to argue heatedly, and everyone returned to their seats.
Da Vinci, suffering from headaches, glanced regretfully at the mask left by Musk, already roughly guessing his fate.
Everyone present was intelligent and knew what kind of person 222.95.105.153 Copernicus was!
No one believed his honeyed words! The reason he belittled Musk was likely because Musk was in grave danger!
Da Vinci sighed softly, raised his head, and looked at Einstein, "If Musk really dies, will you leave behind a virtual model for him, like you did for Turing?"
"No." Einstein shook his head. "The reason you can still see Turing now is because he is the guide for this VR system and cyberspace. His existence is necessary to guide new members to connect, answer questions, and enter the meeting space. The reason you can still see Turing’s model is not because I intentionally kept it as a memorial, or explicitly to prove his death!"
"The charter stated long ago that membership in the Genius Club is for life, and we will always maintain the right for members to attend gatherings! So, whether living or dead, we treat all members equally."
"Just like Musk, regardless of whether he survives or not, this chair and this mask will be reserved for him here! However... now that all nine geniuses are in place, the identity of Turing as a guide is no longer needed!"
"All invitation letters have been found, and all the badges have been collected. Naturally, there will be no new members joining, so there is no need to keep Turing here."
Having said that, he turned his head to look at the farthest of the four chairs on the left, the silent virtual image of Turing, "Retreat. This place no longer needs you!"
The virtual image of Turing became transparent! Only the mask on his face remained, falling from mid-air, dropping onto the chair, bouncing up, and then falling again, lying flat on the chair!
At this point, two geniuses had left the meeting. Including Einstein, only seven people remained at this gathering!
"Then," Einstein said in a hoarse voice, "Since the number of participants in this gathering is seven, the meeting can officially begin!"
"Good, good! Fewer people mean fewer interruptions," Gauss said slowly. "They always interrupt me!"
"Silence, Gauss!"
Einstein interrupted him with a stern voice, "Do not interrupt when I am announcing the agenda!"
Nearby!
The middle-aged man Galileo sighed helplessly, "Gauss, it's no wonder people interrupt you every day. Can you stop butting in? When it's your turn to speak, everyone will naturally let you finish."
Lin Xian silently listened to everyone speaking and could clearly distinguish that what they were saying was not actually Chinese, but was being translated into Chinese in real-time in this VR scenario!
The translation tone and ordinary speech were still easy to distinguish! Of course, to others, Lin Xian's words would definitely be translated into awkward English, French, German, and so on, or other languages!
In short!
This network conference system was very advanced and could translate everyone's words into the corresponding languages in real-time for members to communicate!
Lin Xian could tell! Gauss and Da Vinci must be from Long Country! Because their language expressions sounded very natural and without any translation traces; even if Gauss spoke slowly, the grammar was very consistent with Chinese logic. The people of Long Country understood this best, and they would not misjudge it! As for which country the other members were from, it was impossible to tell, but they were definitely not from Long Country!
Lin Xian turned his gaze to Einstein!
He was still very much looking forward to it!
What specific procedures would there be after the meeting officially began?
Einstein walked back and sat upright in the black wooden chair, looking at the crowd below and announcing, "Because there is a new member joining today, according to previous regulations, a self-introduction process will be added before the formal session!"
"Alright." Einstein's gaze locked onto Lin Xian, "Every new member who joins the Genius Club must answer a question: 'What is the most essential quality that a genius, who creates history and determines the future, should possess?'"
"This is a way for you to express your thoughts and also for others to understand you. However, before you answer, we will let you listen to the answers of others, that is, the answers we have already given!"
He straightened up and took a deep breath; "Then, as N0.1, I will start! This is the eighth time I have told the answer to this question, but no matter how many times I repeat it!"
"The answer is still the same!"
Lin Xian raised his head from the chair below, looking at the thin old man sitting upright on the huge black wooden chair!
The mask he wore on his face was the sad Einstein from the painting *The Melancholy Einstein*!
With dull eyes, a melancholy expression, and messy hair, Albert Einstein was painted on the mask!
This great man of the century, the most outstanding physicist in human history, the proposer of the theory of relativity, and the discoverer of the mass-energy formula, was so miserable in his later years!
I really don't know why the Genius Club chose such a terrifying painting as a mask. There are quite a few interesting pictures of Einstein!
"I have always believed that the most essential quality that a genius should possess is," Einstein said in a heavy and clear tone, "Height!"
"After a pause!"
He continued, "The biggest difference between a genius and an ordinary person lies in the height from which they view problems! A true genius must stand at a high enough altitude and on a broad enough scale to overlook the world in order to make the most correct and rational decisions!"
"As the saying goes, 'The higher you stand, the farther you see.' Only by standing high enough can you understand what can be ignored and what is crucial. The height itself will give you the most direct answers to these questions!"
After speaking, his gaze stopped on the first N0.2 on the left, Copernicus. The mask worn by this frail old man depicted a young man! The young man had fluffy curly hair and a stern expression, like a giant who overlooked the common people!
Nicolaus Copernicus!
At this time...
