In the evening, Peng Gaojie invited some of his brothers to a club for dinner and singing.
These were all good friends who attended his wedding today.
Some had come from far away.
Zhou Lu also brought two of the bridesmaids, and the group headed to a private club in several cars.
Yalong Bay Club, a club located in the suburbs, was a place frequented by rich young men and heirs.
Young people liked to come here because they could invite hostesses while singing, and the club offered a variety of entertainment options that appealed to a younger crowd.
As soon as Peng Gaojie got out of the car, he saw a familiar figure and called out, "Young Master Qu?"
The person Peng Gaojie called turned around, looked at him, and smiled, "What a coincidence? I heard from your uncle that today is your big day. Congratulations."
This person was Qu Jun, the son of the Vice Governor. They knew each other but rarely interacted.
To be precise, Qu Jun didn't associate with him.
"Thank you, Young Master Qu," Peng Gaojie said gratefully with a smile.
"Which room are you in? I came to toast you today. It's your wedding day, after all," Qu Jun asked Peng Gaojie.
Regardless of anything else, Peng Gaojie was considered one of their own, especially since his uncle was his father's secretary.
Although they didn't hang out together, they were indeed connected.
"The Tianhu Mingyue private room. Young Master Qu, I'll come over to toast you later. Please don't trouble yourself to come," Peng Gaojie said, knowing his place.
Qu Jun's offer to toast him was likely just a courtesy. If Peng Gaojie pushed it, it would seem rather tactless.
"Alright, I'm in the Jianghu Riyue private room. Bring your wife along when you come over," Qu Jun said and turned to head into the club.
"Farewell, Young Master Qu," Peng Gaojie shouted after Qu Jun's retreating figure.
After Qu Jun disappeared from sight, Zhou Lu walked up to Peng Gaojie and asked, "Is he the son of the Vice Governor?"
"Yes," Peng Gaojie nodded.
Then, the group entered the club. They ordered food and ate. After the dishes were served and they had eaten for a while, Peng Gaojie felt it was time and led Zhou Lu towards the private room Qu Jun had mentioned.
Each of them held a wine glass, and Peng Gaojie also carried a bottle of red wine.
Arriving at the door of the Jianghu Riyue private room, Peng Gaojie gently knocked.
"Come in," a voice called from inside.
Peng Gaojie then pushed the door open and entered. Inside the room, including Qu Jun, there were four people.
They had just started eating. Seeing Peng Gaojie's arrival, Qu Jun stood up and introduced him to the other three: "This is Secretary Peng's nephew, Peng Gaojie, and this is his wife. It's his wedding day today, and he's here to bring us some joy."
"Gaojie, let me introduce you. This is Young Master Hu, the son of Secretary Hu. These two are Young Master Lin and Young Master Wu. Their families are the shining stars of the business world in our Sichuan Province."
Qu Jun took the initiative to introduce the other three to Peng Gaojie.
Peng Gaojie looked at Young Master Hu, whom Qu Jun introduced first, and his heart skipped a beat. This was truly the foremost young master of Sichuan Province.
"Hello, Young Master Hu," Peng Gaojie respectfully greeted Hu Liangzhe first, then turned to the other two and said, "Hello, Young Master Lin, Young Master Wu."
"You are Secretary Peng's nephew, so you're one of us. Come and sit," Hu Liangzhe said, gesturing to an empty seat.
"Okay, thank you, Young Master Hu," Peng Gaojie said, feeling a little excited.
Peng Gaojie then pulled Zhou Lu to sit with him. Zhou Lu's heart was racing. She had never encountered such prominent young masters before.
Although her husband was a person of some standing, he paled in comparison to Young Master Hu and Young Master Qu. Peng Gaojie's uncle was merely the secretary to Young Master Qu's father, meaning he could be fired at any moment if his mood soured. The difference was simply incomparable.
After sitting down, Peng Gaojie poured two glasses of wine, stood up, and respectfully said, "My wife and I would like to toast you, Young Master Hu."
As Qu Jun had mentioned earlier, it was Peng Gaojie's wedding day. Hu Liangzhe also stood up and congratulated him, "Belated blessings. I wish you both a happy wedding and may you have many children soon."
"Thank you, Young Master Hu," Peng Gaojie clinked glasses with Hu Liangzhe and then downed his glass of red wine in one gulp.
Zhou Lu also dared not say much and followed her husband, finishing her wine in one go.
Peng Gaojie went on to drink four more glasses of red wine, toasting all four people in the room individually.
Peng Gaojie's demeanor pleased the four men; he knew how to conduct himself.
"Sister-in-law, you're married today. Aren't any bridesmaids joining you for dinner?" Young Master Wu asked Zhou Lu with a smile.
"Two of them are here, in our private room. If you're interested, Young Master Wu, I can call them over, and we can all have a drink together," Zhou Lu replied with a smile.
"What do you two young masters think?" Young Master Wu asked, looking at Hu Liangzhe and Qu Jun.
"Either is fine," Hu Liangzhe nodded.
Hearing this, Zhou Lu smiled and said, "Then please drink first. I'll go and call them."
After saying this, Zhou Lu got up, nodded, and walked towards the door.
A short while later, Zhou Lu returned with two bridesmaids of average appearance. Zhou Lu spoke to them, and they were very interested.
Upon hearing about four prominent young masters, including the sons of Secretary Hu and Vice Governor Qu, they couldn't contain their excitement and were eager to come over immediately.
Zhou Lu introduced the two to everyone, and they began to toast each other.
"Sister-in-law, why don't you call two more people? Look, our Young Master Hu and Young Master Qu seem to be left out," Young Master Wu suggested.
This was because Hu Liangzhe and Qu Jun didn't pay much attention to the two bridesmaids, making them feel as if they were being ignored.
Hearing this, Zhou Lu smiled and said, "Please wait, Young Masters. I'll make a few calls to see."
Neither of them refused. They were out to have fun, and no one would reject the kind offer of more company.
After leaving the room, Zhou Lu pondered for a moment and suddenly thought of Liu Jingru.
Today, Peng Gaojie's uncle had shown so much respect to Liu Jingru. A mischievous idea suddenly sparked in her mind to find out Liu Jingru's true identity.
When she thought of it, she acted on it. Zhou Lu quickly dialed Liu Jingru's phone.
"Jingru, what are you doing?" Zhou Lu asked politely.
"Cousin, what's wrong? I just returned to the hotel to rest," Liu Jingru replied.
"It's my wedding today, and I've invited some friends for dinner and drinks. How can you, my cousin, not come to support me? Come over and have some fun," Zhou Lu said.
Liu Jingru found it difficult to refuse. It was indeed her cousin's big day, and it was normal for her to be invited for dinner.
"Cousin, do I really have to go? I'm with my friend," Liu Jingru said, looking at Xia Lin, who was lying on the bed playing with her phone.
She was sharing a room with Xia Lin, and after a tiring day, they had returned to the hotel early.
"Boyfriend?" Zhou Lu asked curiously.
"No, a good sister," Liu Jingru replied truthfully.
Upon hearing "a good sister," Zhou Lu smiled knowingly and said,
"Then bring her along as well."
