Chapter 948 Turning Black into White

Zhou Neng had long suspected Xia Feng of injuring Zhao Jinhua, and now that he had the opportunity to point it out, it was confirmed.

He led his men towards Xia Feng. Upon reaching him, without introducing himself, he said expressionlessly, "You are suspected of assault causing minor injury, which constitutes a crime. You need to be taken back to the bureau for investigation."

Zhou Neng was merely going through the motions. Whether Xia Feng cooperated or if he actually hit someone was of no concern to him.

As soon as Zhou Neng finished speaking, Yun Yan quickly interjected, "Don't falsely accuse him. My boyfriend acted in self-defense. Zhao Jinhua harassed me first and attacked first. He's just a weakling who couldn't beat my boyfriend, and now he wants to slander us? There are cameras everywhere. You can check the surveillance footage to see for yourselves."

Yun Yan called Xia Feng her boyfriend repeatedly and fluently. Since it was a pretense anyway, she might as well enjoy it.

She was happily calling him that now, but she wouldn't be able to later.

As soon as Yun Yan finished, Luo Hanxiang chimed in, "Exactly. Your purpose is to uphold justice for the people. You shouldn't believe one person's word. Without concrete evidence, you're calling him an assailant. Are you worthy of the uniform you wear?"

Luo Hanxiang wouldn't hold back. Whoever made Xia Feng uncomfortable, she would make them uncomfortable too.

Zhou Neng hadn't expected these two young ladies to be so sharp-tongued, leaving him struggling to respond. Fortunately, his thick skin meant he was accustomed to such distortions of truth. So, he boomed, "If you continue to be unreasonable, I'll take all of you in."

He was in charge, and was he afraid of some commoners causing trouble?

All troublemakers would be detained until they submitted, until they admitted their wrongs.

They wouldn't be easily exposed. Exposure required them to be able to publish it first.

It wasn't that easy to get exposed.

"What great authority you wield. Not only do you fail to serve the people, but you also use your power to oppress them. I see your good days are numbered." Xia Feng's expression grew colder as he listened.

This Zhou Neng had approached him with an air of officialdom, without asking or saying anything, and immediately wanted to take him in for investigation.

And it was clear he was here for Zhao Jinhua.

Using the power granted to him by the state, he distorted the truth and oppressed the common people?

If they weren't on Earth, Zhou Neng would have been dead eight hundred times over.

Xia Feng would kill such people on sight.

"This is your second warning. You are suspected of assault, which constitutes a crime. Come with us to the bureau for investigation. If you fail to cooperate after the third warning, I will forcibly detain you," Zhou Neng said, looking at Xia Feng with a fierce expression.

Xia Feng had not yet been formally charged, so Zhou Neng couldn't forcibly detain him, only warn him three times before doing so.

The process would be the same anyway, just a few more words.

He wasn't afraid of Xia Feng resisting; it didn't matter to him.

He actually hoped Xia Feng would resist, which would give him an excuse.

Just as Zhou Neng uttered his second warning, another car arrived at the parking lot.

Zhao Hu had arrived.

Upon learning his son had been beaten, he had sped through red lights to get here. As soon as he got out of the car, he ran towards them.

"Jinhua, are you alright?" Zhao Hu rushed over, concerned about his son's injuries.

Zhao Jinhua shook his head and said, "Dad, I'm mostly fine."

Seeing his son looking lively and unharmed, Zhao Hu finally breathed a sigh of relief. He then turned to Zhou Neng and asked,

"Director Zhou, has the assailant been detained?"
