An hour later.
Mu Yinyin arrived at the Fu family's old residence.
Liang Min had been waiting in the living room for a long time. When the butler opened the door, the moment Mu Yinyin stood at the entrance, she happily got up from the sofa and walked quickly to Mu Yinyin's side, "Yinyin, you're finally here!"
Liang Min was 1.6 meters tall. Due to her age, she had gained some weight. She was wearing a dark red home dress, looking particularly prosperous. Most of her hair had turned white, and she wore it short for easier management.
However, even at sixty-nine years old, her health was still robust. She didn't need a cane and walked very smoothly, with no difficulty climbing stairs.
Mu Yinyin walked in with a smile. The butler took the gifts she brought, and Mu Yinyin let Liang Min lead her to the sofa in the living room.
"There was a bit of traffic on the road," Mu Yinyin said gently.
Liang Min pushed up her reading glasses and held Mu Yinyin's hand, unwilling to let go. A gentle smile hung on her lips, "It's alright, it's good that you're here, it's good that you're here. Yinyin, are you free tonight? Why don't you stay here? Grandma hasn't seen you in a long time either."
Mu Yinyin's eyes flickered slightly. She said somewhat awkwardly, "I'm sorry, Grandma, I still have some things to take care of later and can't stay here."
"Take care of things? Is it something urgent?" Liang Min looked at Mu Yinyin gently, her gaze extremely affectionate.
Mu Yinyin felt a warmth in her heart. Every time she saw her grandmother like this, she felt an indescribable emotion.
In this day and age, many people don't particularly like their daughters-in-law, especially when her father was no longer around and she had no leverage, she wouldn't be welcomed.
But Grandma was not affected by this at all, treating her completely as her own granddaughter, which made her very grateful.
Besides Grandma, Fu Si Ye's mother and grandfather also didn't favor him. As for Fu Si Ye's father, he had his own work and didn't interfere much. He never valued emotions, so Fu Si Ye's parents' relationship wasn't good either. They had initially combined for benefits.
During this period, Fu Si Ye's parents were away on business and had not returned.
Mu Yinyin nodded, "Yes, there are indeed some important matters to handle. I've already promised someone, and if I don't resolve them, I'll be breaking my word."
Liang Min said with some regret, "Is that so? Then how about tomorrow? Can you come over tomorrow?"
Mu Yinyin felt a mixture of amusement and helplessness. Grandma was always so enthusiastic, which made her a little overwhelmed. Thinking that she might have to say the most cruel things later, she hesitated for a moment.
She glanced around and instinctively asked, "Isn't Grandpa coming back tonight?"
Liang Min's expression immediately darkened, "Why bother with that old man! He hasn't been back for several days!"
Mu Yinyin was surprised, "Several days? Did Grandpa go on a business trip?"
"Hmph! Do you think he went on a business trip? He's clearly taken a fancy to another woman!"
Mu Yinyin couldn't help but chuckle. Her grandparents' relationship had always been very good over the years, but they both had their stubbornness and often argued. So, Mu Yinyin didn't believe her grandmother's words, knowing it was just an angry outburst.
"No, Grandpa only has you in his heart."
"Only me!? I don't believe it!" Liang Min snorted.
Mu Yinyin smiled softly, "Grandpa might just be busy with some things. He'll be back in a couple of days."
If the old man wasn't here tonight, she might be able to breathe a sigh of relief.
She remembered that after Grandma called her over before, Grandpa's attitude had always been very unfriendly. But suppressed by Grandma, he couldn't do anything to her.
Yet, she could still sense that Grandpa really didn't want her to come, thinking she was an outsider, useless, and he disliked her.
If he were still here tonight, she would feel constrained.
However...
Things might not be as simple as she thought.
The main door of the villa was suddenly opened, and Mu Yinyin slightly raised her eyes to see Grandpa Fu, dressed in a black suit, walking in.
Mu Yinyin's gaze froze.
It seemed she had been overthinking.
Grandpa Fu's eyes immediately fell on the two women on the sofa. His slightly heavy gaze landed directly on Mu Yinyin. Even without saying a word, Mu Yinyin knew that his eyes were questioning why she had come.
Mu Yinyin pursed her lips and finally stood up politely, greeting, "Grandpa."
Liang Min, perhaps even happier about Grandpa Fu's return, didn't notice Grandpa Fu's gaze and said with a slightly sour tone, "You old scoundrel! Are you back from your honeymoon with another woman?!"
Grandpa Fu, who had a stern face moments ago, was instantly speechless. He looked at Liang Min's jealous demeanor and frowned, "I've already told you, I was on a business trip! What woman!"
Grandpa Fu was already over seventy years old, but he had always exercised, so his body was very good, making him look like someone in his early fifties.
"Hmph! Do you think I believe you!! You heartless man! You dared to find other women behind my back! One day, I'll divorce you!!" Liang Min's voice carried a hint of grievance.
The elderly couple often behaved like this, and Mu Yinyin had gotten somewhat used to it.
Grandpa Fu's face became increasingly grim, "There are other people here, can you have some decorum!"
Liang Min immediately looked around. Not seeing anyone else, she frowned and said, "Yinyin is my granddaughter-in-law, who else is here! Don't try to find excuses. You have to honestly tell me what you've been doing these past few days!"
Grandpa Fu: "..."
He turned away with some displeasure, about to go upstairs.
But before he could go upstairs, the main door was opened again.
A few people looked over together and saw a tall, handsome figure.
Mu Yinyin's eyelashes trembled slightly.
As expected, he still came.
She knew this must be Grandma's doing. She always tried to persuade them to be together and thus always created opportunities for them to be in the same scene.
Liang Min's eyes instantly lit up, and she said with a smile, "My good grandson is back!! Quickly, serve the food! Everyone is here."
The maid responded and began to serve the dishes.
Liang Min took Mu Yinyin's hand, "Yinyin, let's go to the restroom."
Fu Si Ye immediately saw Mu Yinyin being pulled towards the restroom by Liang Min. His eyes darkened, and his eyes carried a strong, cold smile.
He knew it. Mu Yinyin wouldn't be so content and was already setting her sights on Grandma.
He didn't say anything and went to the restroom.
As he entered, it was at the moment Mu Yinyin was walking out. Mu Yinyin glanced at him faintly, didn't speak, and walked out.
Fu Si Ye's face immediately sank.
