Chapter 82 Lu Sinian's Craft

Lu Sinian’s lips curved into a faint smile. He glanced at her again in the rearview mirror and said softly, “Nothing is more important than you.”

Mu Yinyin’s eyes flickered, but she remained silent, unsure of what to say. He had already said what needed to be said, yet this man always liked to tease her.

She was long past the age of youthful infatuation. Furthermore, all her love had been given to an unworthy person, wasting all her effort. She felt truly hollowed out now, with only a shattered heart left.

Lu Sinian was always perceptive. Knowing Mu Yinyin disliked this topic, he didn’t press it. Besides, even if Mu Yingying enjoyed such discussions, he wouldn’t elaborate; some things lost their meaning with too much talk.

He quickly changed the subject, and they chatted with ease until they arrived at Mu Yinyin’s home, where the car finally stopped.

Lu Sinian got out and opened the rear passenger door for her, asking, “Do you require my attentive service?”

A faint smile was perpetually on his lips, and he spoke with natural ease. Even if the so-called attentive service meant carrying her out of the car, it wouldn’t make his actions seem lewd.

The noble aura he exuded made countless girls lose themselves in his charm.

While some men might be handsome but exude an oily vibe, he was different, drawing people in with an irresistible allure.

Mu Yinyin understood what he meant, but she simply raised an eyebrow and got out of the car on her own.

Lu Sinian stayed by her side, watching her constantly, as if to prevent her from falling.

Gu Xiaoqi and the others were supposed to visit today, but Mu Yinyin had refused them all. She had initially intended to have her assistant pick her up, but it ended up being Lu Sinian.

Seeing Mu Yinyin had already walked over and sat on the sofa, Lu Sinian sat down opposite her, a faint smile gracing his lips. He said softly, “What are you planning to eat tonight?”

It was already past four in the afternoon.

Lu Sinian clearly had no intention of leaving and wanted to stay for dinner. Mu Yinyin naturally couldn’t ask him to leave. She looked at him and said softly, “What would you like to eat?”

Lu Sinian pondered for a moment, then raised an eyebrow at her, “How about I cook?”

Mu Yinyin looked surprised. “You can cook?”

Lu Sinian tapped his knees with his well-defined fingers, a half-smile playing on his lips. “Is that so strange?”

Mu Yinyin’s eyes flickered, but she said nothing. In all these years, she didn’t recall Fu Siye ever cooking. She subconsciously felt that people of their status wouldn’t bother with the kitchen. She hadn’t expected the man before her to be able to cook himself; the fact that he offered implied his culinary skills were definitely not bad.

“So, do you want to try? Do you trust me?” Lu Sinian studied her.

Mu Yinyin tugged at her lips. “Then I’ll trouble you, Mr. Lu.”

Mu Yinyin didn’t say anything more. Lu Sinian’s lips curved with a hint of a smile. He stood up, removed his suit jacket, revealing his crisp white shirt in an instant. He unbuttoned his cuffs and rolled them up, his movements exceedingly elegant.

Mu Yinyin observed him, not uttering a single word.

Lu Sinian smiled at her and then headed towards the kitchen.

There were plenty of ingredients in the refrigerator, and Lu Sinian made do with what was available.

Mu Yinyin stood up and followed him.

Lu Sinian turned to look at her. “The things prepared here should be your usual favorites, right?”

Mu Yinyin nodded. “I suppose so.”

She stood at the kitchen door, not intending to help. She was curious to see what kind of delicacy this young master could create.

Lu Sinian said nothing and began to wash and cut the ingredients. His movements were surprisingly skillful.

A look of deep surprise crossed Mu Yinyin’s eyes.

She truly hadn’t expected this young master to have such excellent knife skills.

Especially the shredded potatoes he cut were distinct, each strand thin, and he worked with incredible speed, as if he had been cooking in a kitchen for years.

But given his status, who would believe he spent years in the kitchen?

With that time, he could have signed a couple more documents and earned a fortune.

“You don’t have to stay here with me. You can go rest, or watch TV or something,” Lu Sinian said, his hands never stopping.

Mu Yinyin raised an eyebrow. “No, I’m just genuinely curious about your skills.”

Lu Sinian’s lips curved slightly. He paused, then said softly, “My mother was never around. When I was young, my status at home wasn’t high, and I always had to fend for myself.”

Mu Yinyin’s expression froze, and she looked at him with surprise. “You started cooking for yourself when you were little?”

Lu Sinian smiled, remaining silent, but this was tantamount to an admission.

Mu Yinyin’s expression faltered slightly. She pursed her lips and ultimately said nothing.

These were his personal matters. If he didn’t say anything, she naturally wouldn’t ask.

Then, Lu Sinian spoke again. “You go rest first. Wait for me, about half an hour. They’re all simple dishes, and they’ll be ready soon.”

Mu Yinyin looked at him for a moment and replied, “Okay.”

With that, she left.

Half an hour later.

Lu Sinian brought out all the dishes, still wearing an apron.

Looking at him, Mu Yinyin found it almost amusing.

The president of the Lu Group, still wearing an apron, holding two steaming plates of home-style dishes.

One plate of stir-fried shredded potatoes with green peppers and pork, and another of scrambled eggs with tomatoes.

After setting the two plates down, he looked at her. “You can wash your hands and eat.”

“Okay.” Mu Yinyin put down the magazine she was holding and walked towards the washroom.

After coming out of the washroom, she sat at the dining table.

She noticed that Lu Sinian had already arranged all the dishes on the table. The aroma of the food had already permeated her senses, and Mu Yinyin found herself feeling hungry.

Besides the two dishes from earlier, there were also cola chicken wings, beef and radish stew, and a mushroom soup.

Four dishes and one soup. He had prepared them so quickly, and they were all visually appealing and fragrant.

“You’re amazing,” Mu Yinyin said, genuinely surprised from the bottom of her heart.

Lu Sinian’s lips were curved into a gentle smile. “If you like it, I can make different variations for you in the future.”

Mu Yinyin couldn’t help but chuckle. “Perhaps not. You should keep your hands for signing documents; cooking isn’t suitable for you.”

Lu Sinian sat opposite her, his gaze soft as he looked at her. “That depends on who I’m cooking for.”

Mu Yinyin’s eyes momentarily froze, but the next moment she smiled. “Let’s try your culinary skills.”

Lu Sinian raised an eyebrow and handed her a pair of chopsticks.

Mu Yinyin took them and picked up a piece of egg, putting it into her mouth.

Her eyes lit up. The sour and sweet taste, the rich aroma of tomatoes and eggs filling her mouth, made her unconsciously pick up another piece and put it in her mouth.

Lu Sinian raised an eyebrow. “Seems pretty good?”

“How can it be just ‘pretty good’?” Mu Yinyin picked up another piece of beef for herself and said with a light laugh, “It’s excellent.”
