The men from the Sea Gang never imagined they would run into a steel plate.
Injured to varying degrees, they drifted in the sea, floundering and struggling.
"Please, spare us!"
"We were wrong!"
"We truly know we were wrong!"
However, no one present paid them any mind.
Most merely sneered.
They didn't realize that the old men before them had seen countless deaths. The demise of a few inconsequential people meant nothing.
Lone Eye and the others certainly didn't foresee the terrifying nightmare they would encounter today.
And so, Chen Fan and his group, as if nothing had happened, continued eastward.
Gu Liang had come once before.
At Chen Fan's request, he acted as their guide.
After another four to five days of travel, the outline of a small island finally appeared on the sea surface. The island looked lush and green, seeming like a good place for cultivation and recuperation.
Chen Fan asked Gu Liang, "Is this it?"
"It doesn't look that terrifying."
Gu Liang replied, "Too much time has passed, and my memory is a bit hazy, but it should be."
Chen Fan felt a bit speechless at this answer.
Damn it…
This…
The old Taoist priest then chimed in, "Chen Fan, you need to think carefully. What lies ahead could very well be an unfathomable abyss!"
"One wrong step, and every step after will be wrong!"
The old Taoist priest’s words prompted Chen Fan to retort unhappily, "You're a grandmaster, how can you be so timid?"
Gu Liang immediately added, "He… he's always been timid. If he were any braver, could I have become the sect leader of the Gu Sect?"
"He's just an old piece of trash!"
Hearing this, the old Taoist priest became instantly enraged, unable to contain himself. "You old scoundrel, do you want your mouth to rot? You son of a bitch, believe it or not, I can smash your head in minutes!"
Gu Liang sneered, "Come on then!"
"Afraid of you?"
And so, the two started arguing again, eager to fight!
Seeing this, Chen Fan shook his head helplessly. "You two old geezers, enough is enough!"
"We're all in the same boat now!"
"Hmph…" The old Taoist priest spat viciously and then said to Gu Liang, "Old man, for the sake of my young master, I won't stoop to your level!"
Gu Liang smirked dismissively, not taking the old Taoist priest seriously at all.
Thus, their group continued forward.
They grew closer to the island, and the lush small island became clearer.
This island was no different from any other, showing no discernible special features. Black reefs, verdant trees, and occasionally seabirds soaring past, it gave an impression of tranquility from afar…
It certainly didn't look like a place that devoured people without spitting out bones!
The former sect leaders of the Thirty-Six Sects also expressed their awe.
"This… are you sure this place is dangerous?"
"How come I don't feel any danger here at all!"
"Indeed!"
"Haha… On the contrary, it feels like a perfect place to retire!"
"Well said!"
"The scenery is so beautiful, it would be nice to build a manor here. What do you all think?"
"I think it's a good idea too!"
They chatted amongst themselves, one after another.
None of them felt that Kunlong Island posed any danger.
"It seems you were all mistaken before!"
"Who could have guessed!"
"Hahaha…"
"If this is unclaimed land, then our Wu Sect will claim it!"
"Dream on!"
