Chapter 107: Show Me what You’ve Learned

(2 weeks have gone by in total since I’ve started this training.)

Ghost, Lilly, and Aria have been getting closer to one another as I train with Alarion everyday. The Eclipse Arts was the current focus for me to work on since it was the perfect hybrid of offense and defense.

And like usual the room was back to normal, always perfect the next day. I’d never understand how it always manages to fix itself but I couldn’t complain.

"Do you think you are ready to show me what you’ve learned?" Alarion asks while staring at me with a bit of curiosity in his eyes.

"Fuck it. I’m ready." I answer with a bit of confidence in my voice.

I’ve been training so damn hard these last two weeks I this better pay off or else I’ll feel like it was a waste of time.

I began to go into the eclipse stance as Alarion stood directly across from me, completely unfazed by anything. He was calm, unreadable, and his gaze was fixed on me as if I was the enemy attacking his home.

He seemed to be mirroring the pose as well so I could tell that this was not going to be an easy spar by any means.

Within the first few seconds we both were already right in front of each other. The first clash was beginning now.

His hand brushed past mine, silver sparks scattering across the room like broken shards of glass. I managed to parry the attack before taking a step back.

The same feeling as the first time he showed me this art, it went through me once again. His movements were a bit sharper than mine but he wasn’t pushing it just yet.

"Good. You’ve already learned quite well. Let’s see how much more you know." Alarion says softly as a soft silver glow begins to emit from all around him.

Slam!!! Just barely I managed to raise my arms but his fist had come down like a damn hammer towards me. The ground split beneath my feet and I could feel my arms shaking a bit from the impact.

His silver aura only seems to radiate even more as he begins to rush me with a flurry of punches. Each one felt like it was faster than the last one, each one almost breaking through my defense.

Rokuro this is the chance to start channeling some more of your own power into your movement. Increase the speed and prepare for a counter attack.

That was something I was already planning to do so it’s time to put an end to this spar for now. I’d like to show that I’m capable of accomplishing something and this feels like the perfect way to do it.

I could feel my power slowly begining to increase throughout my body as the red haze started to form in my vision once again. I’d also have to be cautious of his nullification talent since it could kill the entirety of my momentum.

Booom!!!!! Our fists connected at the same time as a shockwave went past both of us, an effect from our powers colliding with one another.

The ground broke all around us and I could feel his power surging past my chest, but this wasn’t the end of the fight just yet. I took advantage of this and quickly swung my fist from below while he wasn’t expecting it.

Immediately connecting with his stomach, sending him into the air briefly before he suddenly disappeared.

Smash!!! Rumble!!! Crack! Across the room he was standing there as if he crashed into the floor itself but he was staring right at me.

"It seems that you have passed. You’ll just need to keep refining it as you go forward." Alarion says loud enough for me to hear.

That’s it? I could’ve sworn that he was about to come at me with another attack but he just fell back. I’m honestly surprised that the fight didn’t go on longer than this since there was a lot to cover.

I only used the Eclipse Arts against him so I thought maybe he would’ve tested my ability to use the Lunar arts as well.

He didn’t expect you to infuse your power with the arts so it probably caught him off guard. You should happily take this victory.

Yeah. There’s no reason for me to question it too much since it was all proof that I trained hard enough to earn this.

I’ll have to refine it over time so that way I can truly make it something special to me as well. Maybe I could even make my own fighting style in the future that would suit me a lot more.

It feels weird using someone else’s family arts to fight like this but it’ll help me out a lot.

"Thank you for all of the help. Training me like this was something you didn’t have to do, but I’m grateful that you did." I say while giving him a respectful bow.

"Use that to protect those closest to you, including my sister. I heard she plans to travel with you, make sure she comes back in one piece." Alarion responds with care in his voice.

He dusted himself off before disappearing in front of me. It was safe to assume that this room would go back to normal and that the fight was over.

It is probably time for me to head back to the girls since I think that I’m all done up here for now. I didn’t really get all the answers I was looking for up here but I doubt they will have them.

So far that feels like a pretty obvious answer since no one knows anything about the star that brought this on us.

Don’t forget, Ghost is also about to awaken. This is a pretty big deal since that means she’ll be able to become quite strong.

I completely forgot that Ghost was dealing with that feeling... We’ll have to see how much stronger she becomes from the awakening.

I’m surprised she didn’t awaken during the time that passed.
