Chapter 92: No need for Blood

Chapter 92: No need for Blood

"There’s no need for Blood Aria." Alarion says with a serious tone, his eyes staring right at her.

I definitely agree with that since I don’t want to end up on a rampage because of bloodlust. Everyone up here is human after all so it would definitely make life a living hell.

"Come on. You can’t say that it wouldn’t be a good thing to take care of them!" Aria shouts with anger in her voice.

He looks at me and then back over at her. "Keep your voice down. It would be a good thing but right now they serve a purpose." Alarion responds.

Eliminating a family that could help with any issues that arise would definitely be a dumb play.

I don’t really know what kind of issues could happen up here right now since most monsters are below Elyndra. I also doubt hunters will take a chance to storm this place over rumors.

At least I can hope that they wouldn’t be that stupid when it came to storming ’enemy’ territory.

Depends on who’s leading that charge in all honesty. But at this point in time, Alarion is right about leaving out the killing.

"Rokuro what’s your thoughts on this?" Aria asks while facing me.

I cross my arms and look over towards Alarion before looking back at her. "Slaughtering any of them right now would be dumb. There’s definitely some use we can still get from them." I answer with confidence.

She also doesn’t realize that I don’t know a thing about them. Their strength is completely unknown to me so I wouldn’t want to risk anyone’s life.

I barely managed to beat Sylas and I honestly think it was because he chose to stay down.

That fight was only yesterday after all so I guess it makes sense why I can’t just move past it yet. He really did have quite the intense power to go against so it was a bit more than I expected.

But you actually used a lot more power without blacking out. You really have come a long way.

That’s true. Using as much power as I did back there would usually wipe me out after the fight. I guess I really am starting to get use to controlling my power better.

I knew you could do it. There’s still some ways to go before you’re even stronger but for now I’ll be going quiet.

Huh? What do you mean you’ll be going quiet Rika?! Hey! Hey!

The silence in my head after she didn’t reply felt horrible, something I haven’t really dealt with in a long time. Just back to my own thoughts without someone else to say anything.

"Seems that our guest is on the same page as me." Alarion says with a bit of relief in his voice.

"Ugh... Whatever. Can you just leave us be for a bit Alarion?" Aria asks with an irritated tone in her voice.

He just nods his head before standing up. "We’ll discuss everything later Rokuro." Alarion says before walking back up the steps.

I’m not entirely sure what we’ll be discussing later but I’ll assume it is about the Selvaris family. They sound like an interesting group of people to deal with.

I suddenly feel my arm get grabbed before I’m pulled over to the bench that Alarion was sitting on.

"There was a strange feeling that pulled me to you, I’m not entirely sure what it is yet. I’d like to talk for awhile longer though." Aria says with a smile forming once again.

"Sure. I don’t see why we couldn’t talk for awhile longer anyway." I reply with a polite tone before sitting on the bench.

She sits down next to me and looks up at the sky. Of course I decide to look up as well since it felt like it’s been awhile.

The beautiful blue sky never fails to catch my eyes, it truly was a nice scene any time I looked at it. People don’t always get the opportunity because of how harsh the world is but at least it hasn’t changed.

"Elyndra has always been my home, just it isn’t the place I want to be forever." Aria says with a bit of sadness in her voice.

"Why?" I question as I shift my gaze back to her instead.

"There’s a lot to see in the world. I believe that, even after the collapse happened." Aria answers as her eyes meet mine.

Being born in a city below made me realize how nice it must be to live up here but never once did I expect someone to want to come down.

A city like this is heavenly so it is hard to imagine wanting to leave here if you have everything you need.

She’s from a wealthy family with strong brothers to protect her if she can’t handle something herself. I could never understand why someone would want to leave here...

Except that works in my favor.

"You could tag along with us then." I suggest calmly while leaning back against the edge of the bench.

"I just need to think about it for a little bit. I’d love to for sure, just... It still is a pretty big change." Aria responds with a bit of hesitation in her voice.

Even though she wants to see the rest of the world, her ties here hold her down. It’s quite understandable at the end of the day since the junkyard was like that for me in a lot of ways.

That feeling like I could never leave... The junkyard held me there for quite some time before I stumbled upon Ghost.

"What is your story Rokuro? What exactly are you looking for?" Aria asks with a bit of curiosity in her voice.

"That’s a lot to tell you, we’d be here for a while. What I’m looking for though... It is the damn star that caused everything." I respond while feeling the anger building up.

I lost everything because of the star.
