The battle on the mortal plane had concluded, but for the Laws and the Primordials, their war had only just reached its crescendo.
Typhon's suppression was a minor disadvantage for the god of chaos; he was created to draw the attention of the gods and wreak havoc on the world, thus draining the Primordials' energy.
In contrast, the absence of Erebos, the God of Darkness, and Tartarus, the God of the Abyss, was an irreparable blow to the Laws. The five Primordials, working in conjunction with the Laws, were barely able to gain an advantage against Chaos. Now, with two Primordials missing, and both Tyche and Nyx affected by the unexpected actions of Typhon and Tartarus, their power was far from its peak! This was an unprecedentedly favorable situation for Chaos, and the god of chaos struggled with even greater fervor.
Eros and Nyx struggled to maintain their positions, cold sweat trickling down their faces. The scales of victory began to tip towards Chaos.
Typhon's destruction had caused the death of countless beings, and the Laws had also been weakened by the world's turmoil. Tyche felt a dull ache with every breath, accompanied by a metallic sweetness. Upon returning to the source of all things, Tyche brought forth her trump card!
The roots of the World Tree pierced through Chaos's skin, embedding themselves deeply. The tendrils of the Magic Net also stirred, following the roots into Chaos's body to absorb divine power. Fueled by a massive influx of divine power, the World Tree grew at an astonishing rate. Its lush branches unfurled, and between its sturdy trunk, a golden flower bloomed.
Tyche wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth and, working with the Laws, usurped Chaos's primordial divinity. With the aid of the World Tree and the Magic Net, the void left by Darkness and the Abyss was barely filled. Nyx and Eros immediately regained their spirit and joined the feast.
The substance that constituted Chaos's body belonged to the Laws, and the fissures on the earth began to heal. The boundaries between earth and sky started to extend outwards, and the world's ascension was imminent! However, with Chaos not yet fully fallen, it was not the opportune moment. After a moment's hesitation, the Laws decided to postpone the ascension and focus on the weakened Chaos before them.
This upheaval had profound repercussions. Had it not been for Tyche's contingency plan, the outcome of the battle would have been uncertain.
The long-dormant god of chaos had ultimately failed. The Laws and the Primordials would no longer give Chaos any chance!
To ensure that the world's ascension would not be affected by Chaos, the Laws had also decided to completely resolve this hidden danger! The previous method of slow attrition was for a sustained approach, but after this lesson, the Laws had no choice but to resort to a drastic measure for a permanent solution.
The supreme divinity from the Creator God poured into Tyche relentlessly, almost bursting her body. The influx of memories also left Tyche with no time for anything else, as she fought with all her might against Chaos's consciousness within the supreme divinity.
The World Tree sprinkled points of spiritual light, aiding the three Primordials in their struggle against Chaos's consciousness. The Primordials gritted their teeth and persevered, gradually turning the tide.
The Laws attacked with full force, continuously disintegrating Chaos's body. The aftereffects of Chaos burning its divinity began to manifest. Its power receded like a tide, and a weakness even greater than before returned to Chaos's body. The consciousness that was about to awaken fell back into slumber. Chaos's resistance weakened with each passing moment, undoubtedly bringing a sigh of relief to the struggling Primordials.
The next step was to divide the spoils. Tyche and Nyx exchanged glances and silently stood together. The two goddesses, bound by trust, instinctively united to exclude Eros.
The World Tree and the Magic Net both belonged to Tyche. The impartial Laws would not renege on this debt, and a waterfall of primordial power poured into Tyche's divine flame.
The brilliant divine flame dimmed as it could not withstand the continuous influx of supreme divinity. The world's primordial power easily shattered Chaos's consciousness, and the divine flame blazed anew. From Chaos's memories, Tyche glimpsed more unprecedented truths.
Viewing the Sea of Chaos from the perspective of the Creator God, Tyche discovered that within this chaos, where time and space held no meaning, lay numerous overlapping dimensions. Tributaries of the River Styx flowed through different worlds within these dimensions. Although Tyche retreated from Chaos's sight the next moment, this brief instant allowed her to discover countless worlds, traversing different dimensions, born and destroyed in the tides. Many worlds were destroyed before they could even give rise to life, vanishing into nothingness in the chaos, their demise unknown.
Tyche gained the most from this upheaval. The memories and divinity of the Creator God were immeasurable. The World Tree also grew as a result. The golden flower hidden by the branches had withered, and a nascent fruit quietly appeared.
The gazes of the Primordials were fixed on this fruit. The Magic Net clung to the World Tree, continuously supplying the energy extracted from Chaos's body to this fruit.
The fruit gradually shed its unripe state, taking on an alluring golden hue. Before long, a completely golden fruit fell from the tree.
Tyche caught the fruit and was surprised to find that it contained pure supreme divinity, with Chaos's consciousness completely gone. Even a mortal who consumed this fruit would gain eternal life and power akin to a deity. It was even a modest supplement for the Primordials.
Tyche was somewhat disappointed. The fruit could only restore divine power to the Primordials, unlike her expectation of it being a nascent world.
Nyx took the fruit from Tyche's hand and examined it carefully. She chuckled lightly, "You will find it useful. Having it in the Sea of Chaos will make things much easier."
Tyche suddenly understood. No wonder Mother Ancestor had said the World Tree would help her. The journey through the Sea of Chaos was fraught with unpredictable dangers. Having these fruits would allow her to maintain her perfect state at all times, which was indeed highly beneficial.
Unfortunately, the quantity was too small to be of great use. It would take time for them to have a significant impact. Tyche divided the fruit into two halves, giving one half to Nyx to taste.
A satisfying surge of power flowed into her body. Tyche felt the injuries to her body being repaired by this warm energy, accompanied by an unparalleled sense of comfort that even soothed her mental fatigue.
Tyche's perception of the fruit's power improved, and her gaze turned to the World Tree rooted in Chaos's body.
More than a dozen similar golden flowers peeked out. It was unknown how long it would take for them to bear fruit.
Erebos, the God of Darkness, and Tartarus, the God of the Abyss, arrived together. Tartarus was clearly injured from the combined assault of darkness and night, appearing before the Primordials as a formless, profound shadow.
After Tyche inherited Gaia's power and became the new Goddess of the Earth, her relationship with Tartarus, the God of the Abyss, had reached a low point. The Abyss uncontrollably sought to erode the earth, and Tyche did not allow the Abyss to encroach upon the earth, retaliating without hesitation. Originally, the Abyss had handed over control of its domain within the Underworld to Tyche. After gaining the power of the earth, Tyche undoubtedly held the highest authority in the Underworld.
As a warning, Tyche dispersed all abyssal forces outside of Purgatory, and the two sides maintained a delicate balance under mutual apprehension.
