Tyche cried out, "You treat the glory of a major god as dust and carelessly demean the reputation of a goddess! Have you never felt ashamed!"
The remaining male gods, stopped from attacking each other by Tyche's intervention, looked at the goddess who had suddenly entered the fray with confusion.
Tyche's emotions grew more impassioned, "Noble goddesses are not commodities for you to choose at will! Their souls are free and sacred, not to be insulted arbitrarily!"
"The desire for power has blinded your minds, leading you to trample on the dignity of goddesses and treat them as tradable goods! Measuring their value and selling them! What a blasphemous act this is!"
The goddesses, moved by Tyche's fervent emotions, came to the high platform and stood with her.
At Tyche's signal, the Starry Night Goddess draped a garment around the Love God, and the Rainbow Goddess removed a pure white rose from Aphrodite's hair and discarded it on the ground.
Pontus's shouts were met only with the angry gazes of the goddesses, and he said in a low voice with a grim expression, "Tyche! This has nothing to do with you!"
The goddesses retorted unceremoniously, "I am the leader of the Ocean Goddesses, and I have a responsibility to protect them!"
"O ubiquitous laws of the world, I, in the name of a major god, request your appearance! Please make a judgment for the injustice suffered by the goddesses! As children of the laws, we should not be treated like this!"
The will of the goddesses was soon answered by the laws. An invisible will descended upon the divine mountain, and the twelve major gods sat solemnly. Iris and Alke brought the dazed Aphrodite into the hall.
Rhea now maintained an attitude of aloof detachment, playing a chilling game of make-believe with Cronus every day. Tyche also did not want to cause trouble and played along with her as an oblivious passerby.
The wills of the gods clashed fiercely. Differences in gender made empathy impossible. The goddesses, led by Tyche, did not back down, and for a time, noisy arguments filled the divine hall.
Tyche stated her demands to the laws, "O supreme laws, please at least allow us to change! Please remove the shackles bound to our souls and allow us to become who we wish to be!"
The vociferous male gods immediately quieted down. This move to cut off the source of support was something none of the gods had anticipated. If the laws truly allowed deities to decide their own gender, most goddesses would likely not hesitate to become male gods!
Under increased pressure, the male gods immediately retreated, yielding under Tyche's coercion. Tyche knew that the laws would not allow the goddesses the right to change their gender. A large-scale gender change by the goddesses, who represented feminine power, would cause an imbalance of power, a result that the laws clearly did not wish to see.
Facing the indignant goddesses, the male gods had no choice but to retreat repeatedly, promising to give the goddesses equal respect as the male gods under the witness of the laws.
Tyche knew when to stop. While disrupting the Love God's martial contest for marriage, she also invisibly elevated her own status. At least, the goddesses regarded Tyche as the protector of women, and the invisible value of this trust and respect was immeasurable.
The laws imprinted the rule that goddesses should receive the same respect as male gods into the underlying fabric of the world's rules. Amidst the goddesses' cheers, the long-dormant divine position of protector of children and women was promoted to a mid-tier divine power through the goddesses' praise.
Pontus, with a dark expression, said in a low voice, "Tyche! You are pushing Eros towards Gaia's side. How will you deal with the questioning from the Abyss and Night?"
Tyche looked at the dazed Aphrodite, "Your Highness Pontus, I believe His Highness Eros is very happy right now. You should ask yourself how you will deal with the questioning of desire?"
The primordial god of love needed emotional power, and Tyche provided him with emotions entirely different from desire! During the fierce confrontation between the male gods and goddesses, Eros perceived various passionate emotions. The greedy primordial god even went so far as to descend his consciousness onto Aphrodite, causing the female goddess to remain in a daze.
Tyche stepped forward, closing in on Pontus. The various emotions in her eyes were ultimately hidden beneath a smile, "Does Eros allow you to display the mother he carefully selected as a commodity?"
Pontus's grim expression said it all. If he had succeeded in his goal of ousting the Memory Goddess from her major god position, he would have had a reason to defend himself. But now, Aphrodite had lost all face, and Mnemosyne still firmly held the position of major god. Pontus would undoubtedly have to take responsibility for this miscalculation.
"You are very frank with me," Tyche smiled even more sincerely. "I will not hide anything from you either. Why don't you consider joining us?"
"Unlike His Highness Eros, whose personality is not yet fully formed, I doubt anyone knows better than you the feeling of being caught between two sides. Being put up for sale is to get a higher price, but it doesn't mean you can avoid making a choice."
The primordial sea god had once been rejected by both Uranus and Gaia due to his indecision between them. At the last moment, he had hidden Uranus's lost symbol of paternal authority, barely being accepted by the Earth Mother. Even so, the Great Ocean God and the Sea Goddess, at their mother's behest, had seized most of the sea areas, forcing the ancient sea god to retreat into the canyons of the deep sea.
Pontus's expression was uncertain. He looked at the confident goddess before him for a long time and then said in a low, helpless voice, "It is precisely because Eros's personality is not yet fully formed that the influence I can exert on him is very limited."
"I cannot shake his decisions." The primordial sea god was also very frustrated. The lustful gods provided Eros with emotions that formed a personality that was not easily communicated with. The instinct of desire had too profound an influence on his master, making it impossible even for him, a collaborator, to communicate effectively with Eros.
Tyche shed a tear of sympathy for Pontus, then, with renewed spirit, persuaded him, "Please believe in my sincerity. If you are willing, I can try to persuade the Goddess of Night and the God of the Abyss to talk with His Highness Eros."
Pontus did not immediately give his answer, which instead made Tyche more confident in persuading him to defect. She further relaxed the conditions, "Your oath of the Styx with His Highness Eros only stipulated that you provide him with emotional power and he provide you with protection. This does not conflict with our goals!"
The goddess smiled mysteriously, "With your wisdom, you must know this loophole in the oath of the Styx."
Pontus remained silent, but this silence undoubtedly meant he had his own plans, which was why he had left room in the oath of the Styx.
"His Highness Erebus, the God of Darkness, also needs emotional power. Perhaps you would be willing to help him."
The primordial sea god succumbed to Tyche's continuous barrage of sweet talk and finally broke the silence, "Please give me time to consider, as this may incur the hostility of a primordial god."
