Kannaes flew into the temple with joyous cheers, the wind he stirred rustling the temple curtains with a whooshing sound. Tyche caught the mischievous Kannaes, and the young deity laughed, falling into Tyche's embrace. The affection and trust in his eyes deeply touched Tyche's heart.
The wind deity rested on Tyche's lap, his bright, grayish-white eyes gazing up at the gentle goddess. Gently stroking the young deity's brown hair, Tyche whispered, "My dear Kannaes, from today onwards, you will study under the Sun God to learn how to become a true deity!"
Upon hearing that he was permitted to venture into the outside world, Kannaes couldn't help but cheer. After the initial joy, a faint sense of unease and fear began to stir within him.
The boy's clear voice echoed in the vast temple.
"My wise mother, I do not wish to leave your side."
Tyche soothed him, "Kannaes, free spirit of the wind. You need not fear or be anxious. When the sun sets, you may return to my side."
Kannaes lowered his head shyly, embraced Tyche with a touch of embarrassment, and then turned to leave the temple.
Bidding farewell to the tree nymphs who had raised him, the boy left with his head held high amidst their worried gazes. Two rainbow goddesses conjured a rainbow bridge, escorting Kannaes out of the island's mist.
Leaving his mother's embrace, Kannaes couldn't help but look back at the mist-shrouded island. The melancholy in his heart was soon replaced by the excitement of newfound freedom. Riding the wind, he soared over the sea. The calm surface rippled, and a massive ocean current surged from the water, appearing before Kannaes. After circling the young deity a few times, the current transformed into a pure white Pegasus. The Pegasus raised its forelegs, neighed excitedly as it beat its wings, and then affectionately nudged the boy, inviting him to ride.
The dawn's radiance illuminated the boy's face. Kannaes, astride the horse, gazed absently at the rosy sunrise and morning glow. The Pegasus's hooves lightly touched the sea, gaining momentum before spreading its wings and soaring into the sky. The Dawn Goddess, opening the gates of heaven, looked down kindly at the young deity before her, casting beams of light to guide him.
Thanking the Dawn Goddess for her guidance, Kannaes steered the Pegasus along the light beams towards the radiant temple. The steady Sun God, having taken the reins of the chariot from his sister, had been waiting at the temple entrance. Kannaes gracefully dismounted, looking up at the strong deity on the steps. A shared divine nature instilled a sense of closeness and trust in the boy towards the unfamiliar deity before him.
"Greetings to you, radiant Sun God!" Kannaes's voice was full of vitality, his proud and confident demeanor bringing a smile to Helios's face.
"Kannaes, master of wind and direction. I will teach you how to fulfill your duties and wield divine power. Your lessons will conclude when the sun sets, and you must return here before sunrise to receive my instruction."
Kannaes nodded with full confidence, mounted the white Pegasus, and followed the sun chariot on its patrol across the sky. The power of the direction deity guided the horses pulling the chariot. Helios watched the earnest boy leading the way ahead, a feeling of pride and satisfaction welling up within him.
The boy stirred the wind, clearing the clouds that permeated the sky. Sunlight cascaded onto the earth from behind him, like a sharp blade slicing through the heavens.
As the sun chariot reached its zenith, the prescient Starry Night Goddess awaited. Asteria, the star-studded goddess, curiously observed the serious-faced boy, placing a magnificent jeweled crown upon his head. The boy, without looking aside, bowed his head in thanks to the goddess, his eyes fixed forward. The goddess smiled lightly, nodding to Helios, and her radiant form vanished into the starlight.
Hemera of the day reined in her divine power, and the serene Moon Goddess and Night God appeared in the sky, manifesting their majesty. From the radiant temple, Eos slowly emerged. Unlike her usual practice of taking the reins of the sun chariot from her brother, she approached the earnest boy. Though it was the young deity's first time patrolling the sky, he seemed to handle it with ease. However, the depletion of his divine power showed on his face, manifesting fatigue. Upon seeing the Dawn Goddess arrive, Kannaes immediately adopted a composed demeanor, mirroring Helios.
"Thank you for your guidance, Princess Eos!"
The Dawn Goddess smiled and nodded, fitting a golden saddle and reins onto his white Pegasus. She said with a smile, "This is a gift from me, thanking you for accompanying and assisting my brother."
Kannaes nodded shyly, his facade of composure instantly shattered. Eos smiled gently, and a small divine power appeared in her hand. "This is a gift from Theia, the ancient grandmother of the light lineage. My dear Kannaes, she likes you very much."
The boy was overwhelmed by the sudden, precious gift and instinctively turned to look at the silent Sun God. Helios nodded gently and said affectionately, "Accept it, child. Your mother would also agree to your receiving this gift."
After bidding farewell to the two deities, Kannaes embarked on his journey back. The proud Selene, driving the moon chariot, set off with him. Kannaes bowed to the Moon Goddess and then mounted his white horse, returning to the sea. Selene grumbled in dissatisfaction but only averted her gaze after seeing Kannaes return to the Invisible Island.
Kannaes was showing off his jeweled crown to the tree nymphs, who all smiled and praised its beauty. Tyche, sensing his presence, had quietly appeared. The nymphs led away the white Pegasus, leaving time and space for the two deities.
The boy excitedly recounted everything he had seen on his first patrol to Tyche, not forgetting to show off the gifts bestowed upon him by the gods.
When Tyche saw the divine power in Kannaes's hand, she couldn't help but raise an eyebrow in surprise. This tracking divine power must have split from Theia's vision divine power. This ancient grandmother of light was truly generous. After a careful examination, Tyche returned the tracking divine power to Kannaes, admonishing him, "The tracking divine power can connect with the domain of hunting, which is very suitable for your divine powers of wind and direction. Princess Theia truly likes you; she has considered everything."
The boy nodded earnestly and absorbed the tracking divine power. After a day of exhaustion and much talking, Kannaes gradually fell asleep in Tyche's embrace. The power of the new divine position would accelerate his growth. Once he fully absorbed the tracking divine power, Kannaes would be close to adulthood.
Placing Kannaes in a pool, Tyche's divine power replenished his depleted energy and fatigue, allowing the boy to sleep even more soundly.
The lilies beneath the dew spread a deep fragrance. Tyche's skirt brushed past the flowers, shaking off dewdrops. Carrying a faint scent, Tyche returned to the temple. Theia's splitting of her divine power as a gift was partly due to her genuine affection for Kannaes and partly an expression of reconciliation towards Tyche. The message conveyed by this act compelled Tyche to ponder deeply. Although the vision divine power was not Theia's primary divine power, it could at least support a mid-tier divine rank. The tracking divine power, split from the vision divine power, was simpler than gaining divine power by connecting to the domain of hunting; conversely, it was easier to erode the vision domain and seize the vision divine power.
The lineage of light, starting from this ancient grandmother, had always been skilled at acquiring information. Almost nothing could escape the eyes of the sun and moon deities patrolling the sky. The cunning Theia, master of vision, had likely also discovered the signs of approaching storms through subtle clues. In such a situation, her willingness to actively split her power and reconcile with Tyche must mean that something unspeakable had happened, forcing Theia to convey her message in this manner!
