With the newly born Shield of the Lake Goddess, Tyche rode the currents to the lightless deep sea.
Pontus, the primordial sea god, silently welcomed the goddess to his domain. Electra, the goddess of the sea’s tranquility, brought her sister the will of the Old Man of the Sea.
“My beautiful sister, welcome to the deep sea.” Electra embraced Tyche with joy. The love of Thaumas had made the goddess radiant. Her absent daughters would also have good futures by their sister’s side, and the goddess was no longer dissatisfied.
After informing her sister of the rainbow goddesses’ recent activities, Tyche thanked the Old Man of the Sea for his warm hospitality with a smile.
“Sister Electra, has the great Pontus recovered? Princess Gaia, due to Uranus’s awakening, took half of his divinity and bestowed it upon me. This makes my heart uneasy, and I constantly worry that Pontus will be angered by this and take it out on you.”
The goddess of the sea’s tranquility swayed her magnificent fish tail. Hearing her sister speak, she quickly comforted her, “Great Pontus understands that this is not your fault and is not angry with me.” The goddess, also grateful to Tyche, rode the currents and said sincerely, “Do not worry about this, my dear sister. Great Pontus is willing to take responsibility for his actions. He has long wanted to meet you, and you will be warmly welcomed.”
Pontus’s domain was not entirely without light. Hidden within the dense seaweed were the temples of various sea gods. The眷属 of Thaumas adorned the beautiful temples with light.
“His Highness Thaumas is worthy of the divine position of the marvel of the sea.” Tyche looked at the swarms of luminous jellyfish drifting by and exclaimed with curiosity. Electra proudly puffed out her chest and led her sister through the coral to the Old Man of the Sea’s temple.
The seaweed clinging to the temple emitted a soft blue light. Wandering through the ancient and solemn temple was like being in a serene dream.
Thaumas, waiting at the entrance, calmly awaited his wife’s return. A school of shimmering silver fish surrounded the marvel of the sea. The flickering light quietly informed its master of the arrival of the goddess of tranquility.
The sea anemones lit up with iridescent light. Their semi-transparent bodies formed a path under Thaumas’s divine call, welcoming his wife’s return.
Thaumas’s actions undoubtedly revealed his inner anxiety. Tyche turned to look at her blushing sister and teased her kindly, “My sister who brings tranquility to the ocean, His Highness Thaumas cannot bear to be apart from you for a moment.”
The goddess of the sea’s tranquility smiled sweetly, leaped from the currents, and was embraced by her husband.
Tyche watched the embracing lovers, seeing in their exchanged glances an eternal and unwavering persistence and trust.
Not expecting these two deities to spare any attention for her, Ceto opened the great door to welcome Tyche’s visit. The appearance of Ceto, the danger of the sea, undoubtedly made Tyche’s heart skip a beat. This alluring goddess with a serpent’s tail was, as her name suggested, not someone to be trifled with. Cruelty flickered in her purple serpentine eyes, revealing a beastly nature.
Among Pontus’s divine lineage, Nereus, the friend of the sea, was the most frequently encountered by visitors. Ceto’s appearance undoubtedly indicated that the Old Man of the Sea was not as welcoming of her arrival as he appeared.
Having prepared herself mentally, Tyche knew her goal would not be easily achieved.
Ceto, with a cold face, remained silent and led Tyche directly to her father. Phorcys, the wrath of the sea, and Ceto, the danger of the sea, attended their father. Nereus, the friend of the sea, was nowhere to be seen. The sea goddess Thetis emerged from behind the temple and offered Tyche fine wine.
Tyche looked thoughtfully at this goddess who would become famous in later generations. She grasped her arm and cautioned, “Beautiful goddess, do not fall in love with others easily. Your children will possess power surpassing their father, and the misfortune that accompanies power will cause you to lose him.”
The bewildered Thetis was terrified. She broke free from Tyche’s grasp and retreated behind the temple.
Pontus’s wise gaze met Tyche’s. The surging divine power of destiny caused the primordial sea god’s brow to furrow.
“Princess Tyche, thank you for your generous prophecy.”
Nereus, the friend of the sea, appeared from the temple. “I will warn her not to forget your kindness.”
Tyche understood and smiled, saying, “You do not need to thank me, Prince Nereus. Her mother, Doris, is also my sister. How could I bear to see Thetis fall into the grief of losing her child?”
Tyche’s kindness greatly eased the atmosphere in the temple. Nereus mediated between the two parties, and the gods were willing to give face to this kind-hearted individual, making the scene lively.
After feasting heartily, Pontus waved his children away and asked in a low voice, “Tyche, why have you come?”
Nereus thoughtfully closed the door for the private conversation between the visitor and her father. Tyche also said sternly, “Great Gaia reprimanded you because the birth of the goddess of love disturbed the slumbering Uranus, and even publicly stripped you of half your divinity without mercy.”
Putting down his wine cup, the goddess looked at Pontus in confusion. “But I know Uranus will awaken sooner or later. The craving for the sky god’s power is merely an excuse to punish you.”
Pontus raised an eyebrow, signaling Tyche to continue.
“Until I accidentally discovered that the Abyss was absorbing the emotions of its prisoners.” The goddess’s inquisitive gaze was no longer hidden. “I suddenly had a strange idea, so I specifically came to the deep sea to find evidence that would help me resolve my confusion.”
Pontus understood. “I knew you would discover the anomaly. As the inheritor of the sky divinity, you will find that Uranus’s lost power can no longer return, unless this former king of the gods is willing to become a goddess. Otherwise, divinity combined with the power of desire will not merge with him.”
Pontus was unexpectedly candid. “I have reached an agreement with Eros, the primordial god of love. I will create a mother body for him.”
Tyche listened quietly to Pontus’s account, realizing that her guess was likely true.
“When the five primordial gods were first born, only the most powerful Gaia had consciousness. But now, the children born of Darkness and Night have fed emotions back to their parents, allowing both primordial gods to gain their own consciousness.”
“The Abyss obtains emotions from the hearts of prisoners. And how could the primordial god of love, as the source of emotions, be willing to remain ignorant forever?”
Pontus said calmly, “He divided a wisp of his primordial desire and combined it with Uranus’s lost power to give birth to a new god of love. The connected origins of the two love gods will allow Eros to empathize with the newborn god of love. After gaining enough emotions to develop a personality, Eros will be reborn in the womb of the goddess of love.”
Tyche sighed, “Why are you willing to help him, Your Highness Pontus!”
“I simply wish to make this already chaotic world even more chaotic.”
The primordial sea god laughed strangely. “If one primordial god with desires can manipulate the succession of the throne of the gods, then what about three, four, or five?”
“Only when the primordial gods are wary of each other and form a balance will the world we live in become peaceful.”
Pontus angrily expressed his dissatisfaction with his mother. “Uranus treated the twelve Titans like servants, and is Gaia any different towards us!”
Tyche calmly replied, “Is that all? Eros has probably also promised to support you in becoming a primordial god, hasn’t he?”
