Lu Fei glanced at Liu Mancheng. The reason he had acted was partly a gamble. Since the Liu family was at odds with the Chu family, his sworn brotherhood with that cheap elder brother meant he couldn't stand idly by.
Since an offense was inevitable, he decided to be direct. Moreover, he had sensed someone observing the events from the shadows, suggesting that the situation wouldn't escalate too drastically.
Although Liu Mancheng was still restraining himself and dared not act rashly, the fact that he had been publicly embarrassed meant this matter wouldn't be easily forgotten!
"Hahaha."
Liu Mancheng let out a hearty laugh.
"Everyone, since this friend has intervened, he clearly wishes to challenge me. I ask all of you to be fair witnesses."
After speaking, Liu Mancheng leaned close to Lu Fei and whispered into his ear, "You have no grounds to refuse, do you? With so many people present, you can't afford to lose face."
His voice was soft, yet everyone present heard it clearly. It was a tactic to break the opponent's spirit, to deny them an escape route and punish them.
The people from Cang Town Beast Taming Academy exchanged glances.
They were well aware of Lu Fei's strength. While he had narrowly defeated Lei Mang, that was when Lei Mang was suppressing his own power. The Liu Mancheng before them, however, was a genuine top-tier Beast Tamer!
Even Lei Mang wouldn't have had a guaranteed victory against him.
"What do you think this young man will choose? Fight or not?"
"He'll probably fight, won't he? Refusing a challenge is quite embarrassing."
Chu Tianjiao, who was somewhat seriously injured, had appeared beside Lu Fei at some point. He cupped his hands and said, "Brother, thank you for your help, but I hope this doesn't implicate you."
Lu Fei smiled upon hearing this. He had a good impression of this seemingly dull young man; at least he was straightforward and not pretentious.
He then patted Chu Tianjiao's shoulder, signaling him not to worry.
All eyes were on Lu Fei, awaiting his response.
A moment later, the young man's voice drifted out, "If you want to fight me, I have to fight you? Who do you think you are?"
"You!"
Liu Mancheng finally lost his patience.
Song Xing stepped forward with a smile, blocking Liu Mancheng's path.
"Young Master, there's no need to be angry. Let me handle him."
Song Xing approached Lu Fei and then said with a smile, "Song Xing, retainer of the Liu family. I request your guidance."
Lu Fei burst into laughter.
"You shameless old fool, still trying to rely on your age when you're this old?"
"You insolent brat! You're courting death!"
Song Xing, enraged, attacked.
Lu Fei silently muttered, "Come on!"
Cold sweat had broken out on his back as he awaited the appearance of the hidden figure.
As expected!
Just as Song Xing summoned his contracted beast, baring its fangs and claws as it lunged at Lu Fei, a long sword suddenly appeared in mid-air, blocking Song Xing.
"Fighting within this area will result in immediate expulsion!"
The voice was not loud, but it resonated like a thunderous bell in everyone's hearts.
As the last word fell, a figure leaped down from the tip of the Spirit Tower!
The aura that enveloped the entire scene abruptly surged.
Everyone felt the surrounding air congeal, as if they had fallen into a quagmire, their chests feeling heavy.
All the contracted beasts present let out a mournful cry and lowered their heads, their previous arrogant demeanor completely gone.
Song Xing's heart filled with dread, his expression grim as he stared intently at the newcomer.
Unlike the red attire of Chu Tianjiao and the others, this person wore silver-white armor. A colossal dragon coiled faintly on the armor, exuding an imposing aura.
He sported a small mustache and his face was sharp and pointed, as if honed by a blade.
However, his eyes conveyed an inviolable majesty.
The newcomer's gaze fell upon Lu Fei, a playful glint in his eyes. Lu Fei breathed a sigh of relief, realizing his gamble had paid off as this was the person he had been waiting for.
"Many thanks, sir."
Lu Fei inclined his head and thanked the middle-aged man in silver armor, as he had intervened to help.
The middle-aged man in silver armor glanced at him, his eyes flickering slightly, but he remained silent.
He then walked over to Chu Tianjiao.
While everyone was still marveling at the sudden appearance of the silver-armored man, a crisp cracking sound was heard.
"Ah!!"
Chu Tianjiao let out a cry of pain. The cracking sound was his bone breaking!
The middle-aged man had kicked and broken one of Chu Tianjiao's legs.
Everyone present was stunned into silence.
"You are a soldier. Remember what your duty is."
"If you disobey again, it won't just be a broken leg."
Faced with the stern warning from the silver-armored middle-aged man, Chu Tianjiao dared not offer any rebuttal. He knelt on one knee with his remaining healthy leg.
"Thank you, sir."
The middle-aged man in silver armor nodded slightly.
"Take him away."
Soon, other soldiers carried Chu Tianjiao away.
Having dealt with Chu Tianjiao, the middle-aged man in silver armor looked at the assembled crowd.
"Those who wish to enter, queue up. Those who wish to cause trouble, get out."
Song Xing stood trembling, daring not to speak.
The middle-aged man in silver armor shifted his steps, the clinking of his armor echoing, sending shivers down everyone's spines.
Shortly after, he approached Song Xing.
With a half-smile, he said, "For your actions just now, I could kill you on the spot."
Dominance!
An imposing aura that commanded respect without anger!
Song Xing was terrified, stumbling backward and bowing in supplication, "Lord Silver Dragon Heavenly Guard, I know my mistake! Please show leniency!"
Seeing Song Xing like a stray dog, the middle-aged man in silver armor ignored him further.
His gaze then locked onto Liu Mancheng.
Having come from a noble family, Liu Mancheng was well-traveled and had witnessed many grand occasions. Despite the circumstances, Liu Mancheng's face remained defiant, his gaze filled with hostility and anger.
He had stopped because of the other party's strength, but he was not intimidated when it came to his family's backing.
Liu Mancheng cast a displeased glance at Song Xing, clearly unhappy with the retainer's demeanor, which he felt had disgraced the Liu family.
And then, in the next instant.
Liu Mancheng was sent flying backward, a blood-red palm print imprinted on his face.
Liu Mancheng had been hit and sent flying?!
No one could even see when the middle-aged man in silver armor had made his move.
Liu Mancheng scrambled to his feet, roaring, "You dare hit me!"
"Heh."
"Your Liu family's dispute with the Chu family is none of my concern, but you insulted the government army by calling them watchdogs."
The middle-aged man in silver armor maintained his half-smile.
"How many heads do you have?"
