Chapter 16 A Genius at Naming

"Han Jinlong!" Brother Ji said first.

Lu Fei rubbed his chin, contemplating the name Han Jinlong.

After a moment, he spoke slowly.

"Han Jinlong sounds a bit cool, but if you think about it, it's a bit... cheap." He glanced at the intelligent-looking little guy. "With that scruffy appearance, a name with 'Dragon' in it..."

Brother Ji nodded slightly in agreement. It mostly felt this way because it thought the name sounded better than its own, which was unacceptable!

The two began a heated discussion.

After a long time.

The two naming geniuses finally settled on a name for the little guy that suited its appearance and personality.

"Leng Tou She!"

As the name left their mouths, both were instantly enamored.

They felt like geniuses for coming up with such a perfect name!

Lu Fei was a little smug. He squatted down and asked with a grin, "Leng Tou She, do you like this name?"

The little guy giggled, clearly agreeing!

Thus, the transmigration duo became a small group of three.

The third member was officially established.

The dragon, who looked incredibly wise yet adorably clumsy – student Leng Tou She!

With this matter settled, Lu Fei let out a long sigh of contentment.

He had been busy taking care of the dragon egg these past few days, almost completely cut off from the outside world.

He took out his phone, intending to check the time.

As soon as he unlocked the screen, he exclaimed.

"Holy crap..." Lu Fei was shocked.

There were over twenty missed calls and many unread messages.

He scanned the call list. Most of these calls were from his homeroom teacher, Lin Wanqing, and there were also text messages from her.

November 15th – Lu Fei, why can't I get through to you?

November 16th – Lu Fei, where have you gone? Your teacher and classmates are very worried about you!

November 19th – Lu Fei, tomorrow is the last day of the grade competition. If you don't come back soon, you'll miss your chance to advance!

After reading these messages, Lu Fei frowned.

"Has that much time passed without me realizing it?"

"Right, the grade competition!"

He checked the date. It was November 20th!

"Damn it, isn't today the last day of the grade competition?"

It was currently 10 AM. If he hurried back, he might still make it!

Lu Fei quickly put away "Leng Tou She" and urgently shouted, "Brother Ji! Quick, back to school!"

Lu Fei was incredibly anxious because if he missed this competition, it meant losing the opportunity to advance to the second year next year. Without advancing, he couldn't participate in the [Junior Beastmaster] assessment!

On the Beast Taming Continent, Beastmasters were divided into five ranks: Junior, Intermediate, Senior, Top-tier, and Master. To reach the corresponding rank, one had to pass the upgrade assessment conducted by the Beastmaster Alliance.

Advancing in rank brought numerous benefits, with one of the most significant being the number of contract beasts one could possess.

As Lu Fei was currently of no rank, he could only form a contract with one contract beast. Once he reached the Junior Beastmaster level, he could contract with two contract beasts simultaneously.

And so on.

Master Beastmasters could contract with up to six contract beasts simultaneously!

Lu Fei didn't want to miss any opportunity to improve his strength, making this grade competition extremely important to him!

However, Brother Ji did not respond.

Lu Fei was startled and saw Brother Ji squatting behind a large tree.

"Brother Ji, are you pooping?" Lu Fei asked.

Brother Ji couldn't help but tremble all over...

After a while, it replied, "Old Lu! It looks like there's a living person here!"

Although Lu Fei was anxious, human life was at stake.

He walked towards Brother Ji's location.

He saw an old man in a Tang suit, with white hair, lying on the ground. He looked to be around fifty or sixty years old.

Lu Fei called out a few times, trying to wake him up.

But the old man showed no reaction.

Lu Fei began to perform simple cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the old man. He was a student of animal research and held a veterinary license, so basic medical care was not an issue for him.

He then searched for some herbs and dripped the medicinal juice into the old man's mouth.

After a long time.

"Cough, cough, cough..."

A few weak coughs broke the silence.

Lu Fei and Brother Ji's faces lit up with joy.

A moment later, the old man slowly opened his eyes, and the first thing he saw was a young boy's smiling face.

Lu Fei said happily, "Grandpa, you're finally awake!"

The old man rubbed his head, looking a bit dazed. He asked in a gentle voice, "Young friend, did you save me?"

Memories of before he fainted flashed through his mind. He had come to the Jade Dragon Hunting Ground, intending to see what this rumored contract beast was truly like. If it suited his fancy, he would capture it!

Upon actually encountering it, he realized how formidable the contract beast was. But being proud, he naturally wouldn't yield! Thus, he summoned his S-class contract beast, "Qiong Qi"!

However, reality was cruel. In just one exchange, "Qiong Qi" was defeated.

He couldn't recall anything that happened afterward.

Lu Fei sized up the old man before him, his chin slightly raised.

"Wearing a Tang suit and being able to enter this VIP area, he's either a big shot or a rich man. If I can establish a connection..." Lu Fei mused inwardly.

He said in a very humble tone, "I just happened to be passing by. It was just a small effort."

Feeling the sweetness of the herbs on his lips, the old man thought this young man was not only kind-hearted but also humble, immediately increasing his favor.

"Heh heh," the old man chuckled. "No favor is greater than saving a life!"

Right! Hurry up and give some substantial reward... Lu Fei said righteously, "Grandpa, you don't need to dwell on it. Helping others is our duty!"

As Lu Fei expected, the old man's eyes suddenly brightened, and his respect for Lu Fei soared!

The old man chuckled, "Young friend, I still don't know your name?"

"My name is Lu Fei," Lu Fei replied truthfully.

"Heh heh, this old man's name is Chu Huainan." He paused, looking Lu Fei up and down. "Judging by young friend Lu Fei's attire, you must be a student?"

Yes, and the very poor kind. Can you offer some assistance... Lu Fei smiled, "Grandpa has sharp eyes. You could recognize me even though my clothes are so tattered."

Lu Fei began to drop heavy hints...

But the old man lacked perception and didn't understand! He looked around, somewhat puzzled.

"Young friend Lu Fei, I remember this place used to be shrouded in mist. How did it disappear?"

Lu Fei was slightly taken aback and began to calculate. He couldn't tell the other party about the events that happened between him and Aidus these past few days.

But he couldn't find too far-fetched a reason.

After a moment of thought.

Lu Fei replied, "I don't know either. When I first entered, I was also trapped by the mist and couldn't get out?" He paused for a few seconds. "I wonder if it has something to do with that giant creature?"

Hearing this, the old man's expression clearly changed.

He asked with some surprise, "You saw that creature too?"

Lu Fei nodded.

"What kind of creature was it?" the old man asked quickly, without much pause. During their previous encounter, he had only seen its claws.

"I didn't get a clear look," Lu Fei said calmly.

"Then where did it go?" the old man's expression was grave.

"It died," Lu Fei said calmly.

The old man was stunned.

In his memory, that creature could instantly defeat Qiong Qi! How could it suddenly be dead?

"How did it die?" the old man asked in astonishment.

"Of old age."

"Of old age?"

Lu Fei nodded. "I was sucked into the mist by some inexplicable force, and then I encountered that colossal creature. I thought I was going to be eaten by it, but to my surprise, the colossal creature suddenly collapsed and then disappeared, turning into golden particles."

To avoid arousing suspicion, Lu Fei's account was mostly truthful.

Chu Huainan listened, falling into deep thought. After a moment, he slowly nodded.

Just then, he seemed to remember something.

He asked somewhat anxiously, "Young friend Lu Fei, did you see my contract beast?"

Lu Fei was slightly taken aback and asked, "What does it look like?"

"It's entirely dark green, with a tiger-like appearance and a pair of wings on its back."
